I'm an illustrator in my day job, but I keep leaking with other things that need to get out. I compiled a book "Miss You, Pat: Collected Memories of NY's Bravest of the Brave, Captain Patrick J. Brown" which enables me to die knowing I did one good thing. But I have more up my sleeve!

That is a great likeness! I saw her years ago and I would recognize her from this portrait. You have talent! (and i just did my yoga...)
I love this, Dirndl! JCO is one of my favorite writers. She's one of our best, and oh, so underappreciated. Thanx much for this! (r)
Excellent. I'd like to see this on the cover.
Rated.
Beauteous! You really got her. Talented thing :-)
mypsyche: Thanks! This is actually the second time I have done her--first time was a paid gig, done in cut paper. She certainly is distinctive-looking. (just did mine too--followed by chocolate as a chaser!)

Clark: Thanks--mine too, tho I havent indulged in a while. "Wonderland" back in the day. She's a boxing buff too.

FusunA: Thank you, blushing :)

greenheron: look who's talkin! But thanks, dahlink! (Rediscovered my croquill pen for this author series...wondering what a "birdie" would be like :)
Boxing, yep - You Must Remember This. Almost got to meet her at the National Book Fair a couple of years ago on the mall in D.C. We got there a tad late, and she'd already left.
I did have to pull up a picture for comparison! http://www.achievement.org/autodoc/page/oat0bio-1

Well done! I think she needs to use your drawing on her dust jackets. (This is part 3? I think I missed the other 2 somehow.)
I found them. I love the Carson McCullers! (Did you sell it?)
Terrific! Love your touch and your vision.
Wow Sharon, that's her, but with more 'herness', more delicate commentary. I am astounded.
Matt: It seemed so contradictory, the boxing--to what? I don't know. People are full of contradictions.

Bell: Wow--research and everything! Glad you like Carson. It's embarrassing to admit, but I never read her. Was always intrigued by the photo of her and Ethel Waters on the set of "Member of the Wedding."

Pilgrim: Danke! (not sure why I am speaking German.) And believe me, it is hard drawing glasses!

Gail: Merci (well, I had to switch to Francais!) More "herness"--I like that! I don't want to caricature people I draw, not ones that I respect. It's a fine line....
Great. You've so captured her eyes which is the hardest part I understand. Wow.
Fusun is so right. This must be on the cover.
Neat!!!! Rated four cat paws!! AND my tail!! :)
Very warm and expressive, love it! Pen and water colours? I did so much wacom scribbling, when I look at your work my hands get itchy for pen and ink again (-:/=
