Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Distraction. Thursday Jan 7, 2010

Rate: 3 Flag

This morning I began a little late --
I didn't start my run till after eight.
And then I saw how many clothes were dirty
So laundry took another hour thirty.
I just sat down, and now it's after ten.
I need some tea -- I get back up again.
And while I'm walking back into the kitchen,
My email's filling up with clients b----
Before I answer anybody's wishes,
I have to clean up all the dirty dishes.
I'll have some toast and jelly with my tea,
But now a client's on the phone for me.
When we hang up, what was to learn is learnt,
But in the kitchen, all my toast is burnt.
I only wanted something small to munch,
But now I think of it, it's time for lunch.
A day like this can make me kindof surly.
I have the kids today -- I'll knock off early.
