Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

The kids have email now.  It makes me nuts,
And triggers fights when I say time to stop.
And though I brook no ifs or ands or buts,
It's tough to watch their countenances drop.
I figured if their mother plans to write,
They'll want to do their email every day.
So they're on the computer every night,
For email 15 minutes, then for play.
I may as well have introduced a kitten;
The novelty is keeping them awake,
And both of them are so completely smitten
I wonder if I've made a big mistake.
But who would want to hamper or kibosh
Their literacy on their Macintosh --
I only wonder if, as an adult,
They'll find computers slightly difficult,
And seek a therapist they might consult,
To learn that with this simple recreation,
They networked on their parents' separation.

DB. This line was so fun to read "But who would want to hamper or kibosh Their literacy on their Macintosh" Sounds like your kids are young(er)?
Hi tril. Not to give out too many personal details, but yes, both under 10.
