Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

The weekend really came out very well.
There's nothing too unusual to tell,
Just serendipitous coordination
Preventing any usual frustration:
The soccer, baseball, playdates, sleeping in,
And sleeping over, running, stealing base,
With one kid here, the other where he'd been
The afternoon before, fell into place
As though the world were guided by my star.
And all I had to do was drive the car.
I even had a pleasant cup of tea.
(One mom is always looking out for me.)

loved the tone of this. mellow. sweet even.
Gorgeous! Nothing superfluous. I especially like the lines:
"As though the world were guided by my star.
And all I had to do was drive the car." And the slyness of:
"(One mom is always looking out for me.)"
Eventually, let's hope, this will be the even keel.

Meantime lovely, db - thankyou.
I really like this - I could totally "feel" your weekend :-)
Could feeling a settling in here, an acceptance beneath the scurry of the weekend..
So nice a cup of tea with a thoughtful friend. Very nice DB.
This was great DB. Loved the line "serendipitous coordination" I don't remember things always going so smoothly!!!!
Everyone else went somewhere to dinner.
They left me here to figure out Twitter.
They think I am watching Army vs Fox.
I don't know who's playing? Marines?
`
You remind me of my brother in law.
His wife left him for a handsome jerk.
He's a jerk. He said` I No talk divorce.
The whole visit from NYC he groaned.
He moaned and groaned. Life is wild.
RicTres says`Take Care. Tell. Share.
I really believe in catharsis. It's Life.
I enjoy these. Misery loves company?
I ain't sure. I know mystery`Enmity?
It's a great mystery mystery`Enmity.
my favorite line made me smile and marvel at your talent:

"Just serendipitous coordination
Preventing any usual frustration"
Hi everyone. Thank you so much, as always, for coming by.

- Renatta: thanks. It was indeed a mellow, sweet weekend.

- Ladyslipper: Thank you so much. Truth be told, they were my favorite lines too.

- Kim: An excellent hope. Thank you. If the right friends of my kids are always home just when I need to call for an emergency playdate, all will be well.

- Pavanne: Indeed? And here I was envying yours, at the sauna!

- rita: yes, truly. The tea was almost an afterthought to the poem, but it actually kicked off the weekend.

- tril: Aha. Well, they certainly don't ALWAYS go this smoothly. No, not quite.

- Art: Thank you for enjoying. And send my best wishes to the brother-in-law.

- Y Heron: wow, you picked the two most difficult lines in the poem. Actually, "serendipitous coordination" came immediately, then "...any usual frustration" took about 45 minutes. Too many words end in "-ation" in English. I was overwhelmed.

Again to everyone: Thank you. You are making this year a wonderful experience.
