Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Today was baseball, soccer, laundry, lunch,
A movie over tacos, and a bunch
Of driving through this corner of the state,
And making sure the kids were not too late
Wherever we were going, there or here.
It's late now.  They're in bed.  There was a tear
Or two while getting ready for the shower,
But that was from the overwhelming power
Of having lost a decent evening's sleep.
They're sleeping now.  I haven't heard a peep.

A good day, huh? :)
another wonderful one, DB! I can picture 365 of these beautiful poems in a book for divorced people who have children. Honestly, these are so beautiful. Anyone would love them. I love them and don't have kids but I just LOVE these poems. I do hope you compile 365 and submit to a publisher.

xoxox Have a FANTASTIC week.
