...Iambic pentameter is for the ear. Read it out loud.

While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Girl Scout Cookies. Sunday Apr 25, 2010

Rate: 7 Flag

They're here!  The Girl Scout Cookies came today!
We picked them up at four this afternoon.
My daughter started sorting right away -
I need to get them out of here as soon
As possible.  If anyone's behind
In payment, they can hurt the flow of cash,
And put me in an awkward sort of bind,
With asset value on a cookie stash.
We'll get it done.  My daughter is excited.
For that, as well as Thin Mints, I'm delighted.

I could live on Thin Mints.
Nicely done.
Sweet. I don't know how you can keep to iambic pentameter and perfect rhyme. ~R~
You've done it again. Such day to day events, done so well.
Now I'm hungry!
And, I see I've beat my friend dlv.
Just make sure you don't eat your assets. . . . And I love the closing couplet.
Another one nicely done..._r
Be careful, DB. Those Girlscout cookies are dangerous! ;-).Cute.
thin mints make the world go round.

Mmmmmm, love me some thin mints.
Hello fans of Thin Mints, thank you for coming by, as always. I already regret eating too many. I am not able to digest fats like I could 20 years ago. But of course, that means a box will last longer.

And therefore, ladyslipper, you must be a trifle younger than I.

FusunA, it's part obsession, part love, part self-imposed obligation. Blogging helps, because now I feel I have to prove that I can do it.

Hello tril, good friend. Yes, I don't see dlv anwhere around at all...? And did you buy your share of cookies this year? (Maybe dlv is afraid to admit that he didn't?)

Hello Pilgrim. Yes, that is always a danger. But I did buy my own, as well. Altogether too many of them.

Joan, thank you. I hope your household is well and vital.

kissing. There are dangers far more grave. I will not stand for self-denial in front of Thin Mints. It is unholy.

...as Caroline has touched upon. Thank you, Caroline. (BTW... I tried to delete a twice-posted comment, and then it reappeared. I don't quite get this yet.)

Hello, She. Long time no see. And yes, although there are several other notable varieties, the Thin Mints are the ones for me. I'm just a traditionalist, I suppose.

Thanks as always, to everyone. Your servant.
Thin mints. Yes. And selling them together. Memories for me, good times for you ahead. TY Bard
Once again, lovely moments caught so quickly and so well!
