Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Sunflowers #2. Saturday May 15, 2010

Rate: 6 Flag

Dactylic flowers -- left without defense
Against a dog who pees without pretense
Then tramples them while walking by the fence --
Make life with certain neighbors kindof tense.

There's those "Dactylic flowers" again.
Have you tried planting iambics? I here they're pretty hardy.
Lovely. So much said with so few strokes.
At least you didn't kill the neighbor like a guy did last week for a dog peeing on his grass.
Hello everyone. I hope everyone in the U.S. had as beautiful a day as I had today. And just out of curiosity, I checked the weather report for Kim's corner of the world. Looks pretty grey for a few days.

trilogy, yes. A dactyl is a dactyl. Which makes it unusable here. Maybe next year I'll decide to channel Dr. Seuss.

ladyslipper, I went way past laughing to utter unqualified admiration for your comment. It does sound like types of flowers, doesn't it.

Pilgrim, thank you. From where I sit: credible verse, no flowers.

anna1, I hope I said enough. I don't want to RANT (but given the opportunity...)

ron, I googled that. What a loon! I'm glad he's in jail -- a powder keg waiting to go off, and then he did. And I grieve for the family.

I was tempted to follow Pilgrim's open call. But I don't think there'll be time. Got to get to work on tonight's.

Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for reading.
