Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Quick Visit. Monday May 31, 2010

Rate: 5 Flag

My head is burnt, from standing in the sun.
My son's a cub scout.  There was this parade.
Memorial day.  The boys had lots of fun,
But once we hit the park?  No trees.  No shade.
They all had on their hats.  I never bought one.
And absent any hair since 'eighty-two,
I should have stopped to think.  I should have brought one.
No hat, no sunscreen, stupid thing to do.
When all was done, his mother came to get him.
He left.  I had no picnic, so I let him.

Oh. The things we remember and the things we forget. No hat, no sunscreen, no food, no shade. Glad the parade went well and that you had time with your son. Poor head. Hope the sunburn hasn't made you ill.
