Divorce Bard

Location: pretty how town, USA
Birthday: February 13

Bio: While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

I bought some things today I can't afford.
Two fans, for nights like this. The kids'll sleep.
A grill. I've gone completely overboard;
But all our sweaty laundry in a heap
Would make it sensible to cook outside.
(No air conditioning. It's too expensive.)
And after a vacation where I tried
To keep the spending down, I'm apprehensive
That bills might come, too furious and fast
With balances to break the bank, at last.
The outlook here is slightly overcast.

Ahh, yes DB it is so very hot here isn't it? Sorry for this for you and the children. I hope you can spring for a cheap AC for the bedroom anyway. Take care. Eat lots of water ice..

I hear the worry in your voice. Heat waves of all kinds come sometimes all at once. Hopefully the fans and the grill will help for now. Happy memories of time together will last forever. You give your all and do your best. Loving, living, giving, staying solvent: how best to balance what we have with what is needed. Hope the heat wave will break soon and in your favor.

Get the kids some little spray mist bottles ( you can find them in the travel toiletries section of Target, etc. - they're only 3 oz.) They can spritz a little water on themselves and let the fan's breeze evaporate a hot unrest.
