While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry.
I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole).
I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.
Hi everyone. I just had to try this once. It presented a technical challenge, and sometimes that can be a great deal of fun; but it doesn't always promise immortality, that's for sure.
froggy, thanks. I'm glad you liked it. But honestly, I'm going to go back to something that will let me use a 3-syllable word here and there.
Jan - excellent. I woke up this morning thinking it had two L's in it, and that I had spelled it wrong because of one Sarah Palin.
Dave - thanks for putting this in your PP post. I'm very grateful for what you're doing.
Kate - you are too kind, AND you see it's not so very difficult -- it's just hard to make it really SAY anything.
Linda - at least you got to sleep. This thing robbed me of a couple of hours, at the very least.
Linnnn - hmmmm... be careful, you could ignite curiosity as well.
Pilgrim - and you are too kind.
ladyslipper - thank you. What I have more than anything else is time on my hands. And wanting to do this, of course.
vanessa - making sense is the hardest part, believe me. With the choices I made here, I was limited to iambic nouns, and iambic verbs. It's a little... limiting?
bluestocking babe - well, welcome! Thanks for coming by.
One more too-late night. I'm glad it's a weekend, so I can sleep a little of it off.

I cannot possibly do one of these and make sense.
