Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

The evening of an almost rainy day.
A slate-blue sky, encumbered with desire,
The color of a thousand things to say,
But absent words, that mortal thoughts require.
A tiny rain, as dusk begins its fall.
A streetlight, walking home.  A sparrow's call.

"The color of a thousand things to say" I'm just going to say one. wow.r
You keep it so honest, eloquent and real. I feel this.....
Evocative. Love it.
Beautiful words, put together eloquently. Lovely poem.
Lots of beautiful images.
Image upon image. Very nice.
I feel as though I am in this evening you describe. Such exquisite detail. Such exquisite style. And then the "absent words." Such fullness.
Rich and dense like a fine wine.
Hi everyone. I just finished tonight's poem, and I'll post it in a sec. I have stayed up way too late again - please forgive me for not responding individually tonight. You're all the greatest, every single one of you.

Thank youzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..............
I keep coming back to this one.
