Ten years ago this Sunday, she was born.
And though ten thousand may have written this
Before, in tongues now perished from the earth,
And more again, in cadences well-worn
Of languages still heard... a single kiss
Would silence them, and elevate her worth
Beyond immortal works of speech, and art.
I saw her, and I grew a second heart.

She will hold dear and remember always!
A beautiful Happy Birthday poem for your daughter DB.
But in the meantime, thank you for your well wishes. They are much appreciated.
froggy, thanks so much. I'll think of you (and the others) as I barbecue tomorrow evening.
anna1, really that's the best way I can describe it. And the thing is, no one ever told me that the second heart was missing. It's just something that parents discover themselves, all of them.
Kate, thank you. I don't remember 10 much, to be honest. I hope she will.
Lea, hello! Thanks for popping by.
sweetfeet, you too. Thanks for your wishes.
Rita, it is very nice to have you here. Thanks for reading, thanks for commenting.
I also must apologize , as well, to everyone whose posts I've missed reading over the last week or so -- I know some good stuff has gone by, because the law of averages says that's just gonna happen. I've been having an all-work-and-no-play couple of weeks, and when it's over for the night, I write, I post, and I go to bed.
I am very gratified that everyone continues to come by. Thank you.
