Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Left Brain. Sunday Sep 19, 2010

Rate: 8 Flag

The day's preoccupation with design
To right a sequence, where a step had failed,
And get the dangling pieces to align
While useful still; the rigor it entailed
Outlasted its success.  I can't let go,
To write about some nicer things I know.

Hope the puzzle let you go and let you rest. Rereading your lines, I hope you won't forget to rest and let the puzzle go.
...must let go to grasp other lovelier things...sigh. I've felt this too.
Sounds like you are a determined fellow.
But you're still sick. Take it easy. Mellow.
I just love your writing!
I'm glad you didn't let go to write about nicer things. Look at the intricacy of what you made instead!
Any brain left
Leaves some heft.
Those dangling pieces will align soon enough!
Sounds a lot like my mind most of the time.
Hi everyone. Fast hellos tonight, I am very, very, tired, again.

anna1, it's a daily struggle. I'm better at it than I was 25 years ago.

Muse, it is hard sometimes, isn't it.

Kate, great advice, great couplet. You go!

Lea, I love it when you step out of the background like that sometimes.

Caroline, like always, I guess, it's about tapping the right vein.

Leon, I've been going to bed pretty light-headed lately.

trilogy! trilogy! It is way excellent to have you back!

pastvoices, and don't you hate it when people say "oh just don't think about it!"

BJD: Welcome! Come back again! Fresh verse served daily! And too late at night for a witty retort - the court lets the decision stand.

Good night all!
