Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Rate: 12 Flag

I read my son to sleep, turned out the light,
Dozed off myself, and that was that.  Goodnight.

Sleep well, DB. And sleep ever so tight.
May sweet dreams visit and hold you this night.
Sweet dreams to both of you:)
Ahhh. thought you still need something lively too. Hope your dreams are wild and steamy.
A poem about a good end to a day.
Lucky boy, lucky man, lucky us.
Thanks for sharing so beautifully.
Such a sense of gentle peace.
the sweetest of dreams to you and boy
When I rock the littlest one to sleep I'm the one who conks out first.
I am always astounded at the response that my Goodnights get. Makes me wonder why I work so hard, sometimes.

Kate, Susan, Oryoki, heidibeth, Brassawe, trilogy, Kim, anna1, Muse, and Midwest, thank you all. As a matter of fact, I slept like a stone.

Vanessa: that used to happen to me, reading to my daughter. I'd fall asleep in the middle of a sentenzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz and my daughter would hit me in the ribs to wake me up. She was two, I think. Great sleeper, but chronically unable to GET to sleep.

Thank you all so much. And goodnight!
You brought the image of the two of you to my head. Such a blessing to each other! That is judging by the way you slept!
