Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Anonymous #8 (Rain Predicted). Saturday Dec 11, 2010

Rate: 11 Flag

Tomorrow I'll get up before the dawn,
To drive a couple hours, and park the car.
You will not be Anonymous, anon.
And us... we'll get a glimpse of who we are,
And order coffee.  Then we'll let it rain.
If you should find my company is pleasant,
We'll stay, until the waiter goes insane,
We two lost grownups, dwelling on the present,
Just playing ask-and-answer.  Though your eyes
Could well take over my imagination.
So stop me if I start to rhapsodize;
It's only coffee, and a conversation.
Just that for now, no more.  Let that suffice.
Although, you know.  You do seem really nice.

A bolder Bard, a darker roast, and one that fully lingers on the palette long after the taste is swallowed.
Ah, anticipation. . . the seed of dreams. Let it rain, let it rain.

ahhh, a coffee date...reach out and touch her hand... you won't regret it... r
Eyes. Always windows of the soul. Lovely this.
La lluvia pura y rica. Simple, basic, drenching.
And we want to hear all about it, Bard!
it is whatever you what it to be..
I’m glad she likes coffee too …
hopefully as much as you!
I’ve said a wish and sent a cheer
But, oh I cannot wait to hear …
Did it rain?
Did the waiter go insane?
And her eyes …
What colour were her eyes?
hoping for rain, and lovely eyes, and crazed waiters
Hello everyone. Thank you, thank you, thank you, for your well wishes.

Confession: "Then we'll let it rain" is a single phrase lifted directly from "Soon it's gonna rain" from The Fantasticks, by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. I played the piano score to the show in high school, and have always had a soft spot for every word, every note. It was verbal comfort food, to be able to use it here - and quite legitimately.

scupper - that is a lovely comment, a lovely observation, and a lovely wish. Thank you. And I drank too much coffee today.

Fusun - I so appreciate your coming by because I owe you a reading. Thank you for being here.

hugs - oh gosh, I'm afraid I can't report back on specifics.

anna1 - thank you. Eyes are lovely, indeed.

catch - un poco mojado hoy. Pero contento.

trilogy - oh dear me, dear me. I'll give you the 35,000-foot view, ok? I don't want to be one to go blabbing to the whole school yard.

Kim - yes indeed. and -

rita - there are so many open questions.

Kate - That comment is so utterly sweet it makes me want to talk and talk and talk. No waiters were carted away in straightjackets today. At least not on my account.

vanessa - Today was a lovely day.

Thank you everyone, for coming by.

Goodnight!
Sorry I missed this one. This is a very special poem indeed!
