Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Tannenbaum. Monday Dec 13, 2010

Rate: 11 Flag

I'd bought some empty cards to doodle on.
My son discovered them.  Now one is gone.
I think he feels a slight magnetic pull
To paper, when the marker jar is full,
A sort of three-way orbit of potential;
One boy, some cardstock, colors.  Each essential.
He drew some presents underneath a tree,
And then forgot it.  As a gift to me.

Sweet! Your life is rich with simple beauty sir. Thank you for giving us a glimpse.
Tannenbaum ... O Christmas Tree!

DB, would you please do me a favour? And tell your son I think he is a wonderful artiste! Such beautiful colurs ... so carefully chosen ... so lovingly painted.

And DB, I've been meaning to say for oh so long now .... you title your posts so perfectly. Always just the right title.
Bard,
I often buy packs of cards that drop to a very low price due to a sale. I put them in the arts boxes of the children who then delight in sending them to us throughout the year. Just the other day I received one of the cards back. The front read: Cheers. The inside drawn "cheery." The artist-five.
O, O, O! I so love this! All of it but especially "As a gift to me." Gifts all round here.
Such wonderful natural verse, Bard!
Precious. You are blessed.
the most precious gift of all - thanks so much for showing us
