Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Coffee #6 (A Triolet). Tuesday Dec 28, 2010

Rate: 13 Flag

The morning lingered nearly into night.
Already you're a hundred miles away.
Though time would win, and take you from my sight,
The morning lingered nearly into night.
Desire, a guest invited, set aright,
Would color later mem'ries of the day.
The morning lingered nearly into night.
Already you're a hundred miles away.

marked with evocative nuance

so very well done...
peace and dreams, Bard. with thanks :}
Okay, I just went back and read all the coffee's and I'm blushing. Seriously, grown woman here... must be the lovely writing. Why is it when it is so innocently written about, it is seems like so much more ? I guess peeking into someone else's life can make you blush. r
Beautiful. What more is there to say?
This is lovely. And I am very intrigued by the line ..."The morning lingered nearly into night" ... Hmm ... yes, intriguing!

DB, you've got me interested in the form too. So I looked it up. (ABaAabAB - iambic tetrameter - 1st, 4th & 7th lines identical - as are 2nd and 8th lines).

If I pluck up some courage somewhere along the line, I might try a Triolet of my own ... but don't hold your breath!
ha!
(i'm not discussing form or structure, i am ill equipped to do so, i'll let others do that and enjoy the discussion)

for now, just
sigh
but if i told you
were i an island sorceress and able to divine, perhaps time will bring its own answer and life, a strange mistress, will graciously acquiesce
Well done. Can hardly wait for Friday's big bang.
Oh for mornings that linger in precisely just a way as this. Such a romantic dance begins.
Charming! After hugsme's comment, I didn't go back to read the former five again.
"Desire, a guest invited, set aright"

nice...
I can't believe I neglected all of your comments here - I've been losing a little sleep again, and it's getting late enough to make me stupid, when I am finally finished with a post. Please forgive me.

Thank you all sincerely, for honoring me with your reading.

Goodnight!
Much to learn from you, in so many ways. Rated.
