Bio
While the ashes of marriage #2 were cooling, I began a journal here in verse, to keep myself out of trouble. So far so good, and one day at a time. I took a hiatus this past January, and I missed it terribly. Writing daily had changed the way I think - not my opinions, but the process of thinking itself. So here I am back again, and hungry. I began with three rules: (1) Iambic pentameter, (2) Perfect rhyme, and (3) It had to be true (no hyperbole). I hereby amend rule number 3: If I'm writing about myself, yes, it has to be true. But it doesn't, if I want to tell a story.

Divorce Bard no more.

So, you know, here's the deal.

When I started doing this, I was basically blogging my divorce.  I had started a blog under my real name, where I was going to blog my divorce, because I thought it would be awfully clever to blog my divorce in verse.  That was just a couple of days before January 1, 2010.

I mentioned this ambition to our company attorney, just in passing.  He gave me what probably amounts to oh, maybe $80,000 -worth of legal advice:

          "Don't."

(He flatters me sometimes, by calling me up to go over the wording on contracts with our clients.  He's very precise.)

So I went anonymous, and that worked out very nicely.  But somewhere along the way I realized that I was getting better at the verse part (let alone the divorce part), and I started to get jealous of my pseudonym.

So, you know, here's the deal.

I have this itch to publish under my own name, you know?  My real one.  It's not like I've gotten OVER the divorce part, oh no.  But I thought I'd peek out from behind the curtain.  And then Salon's servers started to go kablooey, so I thought OK, now must be the right time.

So.  Please visit my new place, under my name (which I own):

           www.ChristianHege.com  (it rhymes with Peggy)

The furnishings are a little spare.  But there's lots of coffee.

Thanks everyone, for having been so very gracious.
