BREAKING NEWS: Republicans Deal Blow To Dems...and Obama!!

Rate: 3 Flag

Regardless of what the Obama Administration has said or will say about these off-year elections the results are bad news and they know it.

Virginia went for Obama in the 2008 election as did NJ and NY.

Suddenly, the times, they are a changin'.

The biggest shock to the Obama Administration is the absolute exodus of the Independent voters that assured his election the last time around.

They have left out the back door and they aren't returning to the party.

Even if Corzine wins in NJ he'll be so beat up that they will have to drag him across the finish line.

Just the fact that as this point it's "too close to call" should be frightening to the Democrats in Congress.

Corzine had to spend ALOT of his money just to pull even with Christie.

Daggett may yet prove to be the spoiler and Corzine will have him to thank for it but Corzine, if he wins, will be a "dead man walking" in NJ politics.

The PEOPLE are finally getting their say.

This is just a prelude to what will most likely be a first-rate butt whipping in November of next year.

Watch for more Dems to distance themselves from Obama as the election gets closer and closer.

The President is a liability now and they know it.

This also means that there will be NO health reform bill this year either because the Dems will take this as a sign and they will back off.

Sure Pelosi and Reid will still attempt to push it through but the moderates and conservatives in the party are going to see this as a wake-up call and walk away.

Obama is going to have a decision to make: Dig in or surrender and compromise.

So far he has chosen to fight.

We'll see how that works out in the long run.

You can bet that they are talking about this right now in The White House and old Rahm is explaining the "bad news" to the President.

Tonight, the revolution has begun!!!!

What better place than in the great State of Virginia!!!

2010 is going to be an interesting election year.

First, Obama says he helped create or save x number of jobs and then he says there will be more job losses.

Is anybody watching this guys words?
"Is anybody watching this guys words?" I think tonight answers that question.
Congress had better wise up. 2010 is going to be fruit basket turnover.

The Republican victories should come as no surprise at this point. When you have a President whose party has a veto proof majority in both houses and his leadership skills are so poor he can get no significant pet legislation passed, then you know it's game over.

I've always considered Jimmy Carter as the worst President, while many on the left would give that title to Bush 43. Today, it can be conclusively stated that after only 10 months in office, President Obama now holds the title of worst President. You will see him continue to slide, I think, to the point that he starts making irrational, delusional based, decisions. Admittedly, the thought of a "President Biden" is not sitting too well with me at this point either.
AP is reporting Democrat Owens wins in NY 23. If true, the one "Who will we send to DC" race was lost by the Tea Bagging GOP whacko base candidate. First Dem, I believe, in 100 years or so.
Cancel the revolution.
rw, do you think that Obama will be impeached? Is that why you mention President Biden? Bad night for Dems, except where the rwnutjobs turned NY23 over to the Dems for the first time in 140 years.
Your bio says you're a former marine, combat vet, christian, and conservative. That about says it all. You're just another brainwashed American puppet who believes everything the conservative corporate and political puppeteers tell you is true. Your bad mouthing of a liberal democratic president fighting to protect the freedoms and civil rights of America's middle class citizens rather than the wealthiest 1% of the country is the kind of thinking that makes no sense at all.

Sorry, but there are plenty of intelligent, thoughtful, and open-minded people in the world who know that our true identities as human beings have nothing to do with the agendas of two American political parties that have become essentially one and the same. It's the views of narrow-minded, propagandist ex soldiers like you that encourage and perpetuate the greed and corruption that now runs America's insane social and political systems.

I strongly disagree with your ridiculous claims about the current president of the United States, and unless Obama can make a few changes or you're in the top 1%, you and millions of Americans like you can kiss the old American way of life goodbye.
P.J., your optimism is commendable, but the Dimocratic party is essentially sitting in the cockpit of the space shuttle Challenger at about five seconds after liftoff. They're dead, they just don't know it yet.
Roger, I think Obama may be headed for a mental breakdown of some sort. As to the Dim victory in NY 23, BFD. It is irrelevant in the overall scheme of things, but it gives Dims a straw to grasp at.
rw, would you have been saying BFD if the conservative had won? Why does that loss not matter, but the Dem losses do? Historically, elections one year after a Presidential election have had little meaning. I would agree that GW was probably the worst Prez ever, with Carter and Reagan a close second.
What evidence do you have of a possible mental breakdown?
Oooo, I just got chills!
rwnj,
I have no particular love for the Dem party. At this point their only positive attribute is they aren't the nutbucket GOP.
The NJ and Va races went to form. Only NY23 was unusual.
Looks like the Dems should hire Beck and Palin to endorse as many GOP candidates as possible. The jackass Repub base is a surefire loser.
I guess the GOP is supposed to parlay that 20% self described Republican base into a takeover? Dream on. The electorate might be disgusted with the Dems, and for good reason...but they abso-freakin-lutely despise the radically insane GOP. They haven't forgotten who FUBAR-ed the economy, and 12 months won't help much.

You have the significant race factor bass-ackwards. 23 is the beginning of a very messy GOP intramural food fight.
Paul-"The electorate might be disgusted with the Dems, and for good reason...but they abso-freakin-lutely despise the radically insane GOP. " I know you might to believe that but the reality is the same people who helped put Obama into office, the Independent voters, have left him in a big way. They may not be embracing the GOP at this point but they have left the Dems and that portends their demise next November. They know it and you'll see a change in their attitude in next coming months as they begin to take stock in their political careers. Obama will be on an island. Isolated.
Nom-"Your bad mouthing of a liberal democratic president fighting to protect the freedoms and civil rights of America's middle class citizens rather than the wealthiest 1% of the country is the kind of thinking that makes no sense at all." I suggest you do your homework my friend. If you think that healthcare reform, Cap and Trade and the other out-of-control spending habits of Obama won't affect the so-called "middle class" then you are living in an alternate reality. THEY will be hit the hardest. Why do you think they are rejecting his policies so far? Do you think it's the rich out there at those TEA Party's? If you do then you need to go to one and meet your neighbors and friends. You'll be surprised at who you bump into out there.
As far as denigrating my service to this country is concerned, I can only say that you are welcome to wrap yourself in the freedom that I and many others have provided for you and your loved ones. We don't take it personally. Your FREE to say or do what you like....thanks to us.
Well said, DJohn. Rated.

The only remarkable thing about New York 23 was that a nerdy nobody came very close to winning over the combined forces of America's two major parties.

I agree that Obama's resume is catching up to him so quickly that we may soon see increased signs of personal instability. Watching basketball instead of the results of an election in which he put his reputation and charisma on the line suggests denial, an early symptom. Add to this the fact that he can't manage organization even as to "easy" matters and you've got more bad omens.

The ludicrous spectacle of Harry Reid contradicting his boss on the health care reform timetable and the equally incredible contradiction of reality on the part of Gibbs on the issue of flu shots to Gitmo both give the impression that Obama is losing his grip.

However, since that grip is around the throat of traditional American values, any loosening of it is a good thing.
Roger asks: "rw, would you have been saying BFD if the conservative had won?" Honestly Roger, and Paul, I just do not much care about any politics going on in New York. Despite any Republican victories in that state to the contrary, New Yorkers are either wealthy left wing elitists or blue collar types who always want a government tit to suck on. I would have been happy if a Republican had won 23, but IMHO it's no biggie either way.

As to the mental breakdown comment Roger, I think Obama may be a candidate for a nervous breakdown of some sort because he is simply to juvenile minded and immature to have the capacity to handle a large amount of stress. His dysfunctional childhood and radical associates do not help to contribute to his mental stability.

Paul, I agree that there is a certain elitist/f*uck joe six pack element in the Republican party that will never get the message. I also agree that the Republicans are constantly the minority, but for different reasons than you. I do not agree with you or Roger on the significance of NY 23, but we still have our First Amendment rights so we can come on forums like this and debate the issue as rational adults.
According to Bloomberg: "Virginia hasn’t elected a governor from the party that holds the White House since 1973. "

According to the Democratic Governors Association Blog: "This election continues a 24-year streak in New Jersey where the party in the White House loses the governorship."

And the beat goes on...
I'm sure that, if OS had been in existence at the time that the Virginia and New Jersey governorships both went to Democrats during the Bush administration, we would have seen the following blogs:

"Bush: The Thrill Is Gone" by Gordon Osmond

and

"BREAKING NEWS: Democrats Deal Blow To Repubs...and Bush!!" by DJohn

Right?
jeanette-you miss the poine that the so-called revolution for "change" has lost it's momentum and very quickly at that. At the rate the the Obama Administration and the Dems in Congress are losing support there could very easily be a political bloodbath at the polls next November. Sure, people turned on Bush but it took them a while to do so.
