The Twisted Tale of Halabja and WMD

Rate: 1 Flag

This is in response to some comments on my most recent post "WikiLeaks CONFIRMS WMD in Iraq." There were some questions raised about the attack in Halabja and whether it actually took place. I am going to post a link to an excellent article rather than dissect it.

Let me just say that regardless of which side of this issue you are on you will learn something from this article. It might even surprise you like it did me.

Bush might as well have said that he was going to invade Iraq because it was St. Swithens' Day. Honoring the 15th anniversary of Monica Lewinsky, let's all go out and buy a blue dress!
Nobody questioned whether the attack took place. In fact, I didn't see the Strawman comment on that post at all. The question is who was responsible/most responsible. The CIA, etc, after the attack blamed Iran. Independent researchers blamed Iran in one study and Iraq in another.

It's easy to believe Iraq had chemical weapons, as Reagan and Poppy Bush approved an ample supply of precursor chemicals after Reagan took Iraq off the state sponsors of terrorism list. Poppy Bush made sure the supply lines stayed open, sending more chemicals, even after Desert Storm. What's a little war compared to an intense and long-going relationship between leaders?

Reagan and Poppy did everything they could to ensure lil' GW would find WMD, but GW couldn't find any. Just like his career in the oil business, where lil' Dub couldn't find oil either.

PS -- I'll send the Strawman a message telling him you demolished his argument. He may want to defend his honor.
This was in that blog being used as a reference.
“At the summit, President Bush reiterated five reasons for going to war: “The dictator of Iraq and his weapons of mass destruction are a threat to the security of free nations. He is a danger to his neighbors. He’s a sponsor of terrorism. He’s an obstacle to progress in the Middle East. For decades he has been the cruel, cruel oppressor of the Iraqi people.”
“All but the last reason has long since been largely discredited.”

For one thing, there seems to be personal opinion in this blog that was used for reference. How can you say, “All but the last reason has long since been largely discredited”, when you take into account the attacking of a sovereign nation such as Kuwait? Saddam Hussein was definitely a threat to the security of Free Nations. He was definitely a threat to his neighbors. He was definitely a sponsor to terrorism, he loved those scuds, but then again, I am sure Paul J was dancing over Israel being attacked. What this writer is saying has been discredited, is ridiculous. Facts and Truths can be manipulated through whoever is giving the testimony at the time, just like Obama is doing presently.

There is no doubt that Leaders will use anything to go to war for their own benefits, take Obama for instance, going to war in the Middle East and getting into a quagmire. We will learn soon enough what Obama’s reason for war in the Middle East is about. Obama will be next on the list of leaders having their dirty little secrets come out.

The largest problem with Leaders of yesterday and today is a political agenda of casting blind eyes to the Truth when it suits them. Bush did it, Obama is doing it and you liberals let Obama get away with it for your socialist ideals. What you complain about Bush, you do not do with Obama. Obama is right on the heels of Bush, doing the same exact thing, except Bush did not invade a sovereign country. Obama invaded Libya merely to support rebel uprising. We had no business in that country’s internal affairs, as opposed to Hussein attacking Kuwait, giving us an excuse to remove Hussein. Twisted Tales come about by everyone manipulating the facts until the Truth becomes so muddied that it cannot be recognized. The ultimate fact is that Hussein was a mass murderer bent on regional domination with a hatred for everyone but himself. Liberals would not allow us to do the job completely in Nam and they did it again in the Middle East. You can use whatever rhetoric you want about why we went into Iraq or the lies that were perpetrated, the Truth lies in the tens of thousands of innocents being murdered and a sovereign country and its people being placed under oppression.

THAT WAS GOOD ENOUGH REASON FOR ME!!! Screw the oil, screw the leaders, and screw the liberal hate mongers and set the people FREE!!! No more government control over every aspect of our lives, such as Obama and his cronies are trying to do to Americans today. Paul J, you are so freaking deluded and brainwashed, you cannot see the forest for the trees. You still insist on no WMD, when the proof is shown that Hussein had already used WMD.

Like I said, “LIVE FREE FROM PROGRESSIVE TYRANNY OR DIE TRYING!!!!!”
