To watch Mitt Romney and President Obama debating was in some ways just as it was in Denver though the media would have you believe differently. The President needed this debate to go his way, but the reality objectively will not support that bias. I watched ABC’s coverage and was appalled at the subtle support for the incumbent. Banners beneath the screen quoted the President while not doing so for Romney. The President once again had the unmitigated support of ABC. Moderator, Candy Crowley not only awarded more time to Romney but actually agreed with the President on 2 issues. The proverbial writing was on the wall!
After a lively debate that saw Obama making some very misleading statements about past quotes from Mitt Romney over issues, Mitt simply sat back silently indicating that he had not made such statements. However, Romney once again had total command of the facts and statistics displaying his well studied approach to the debate while Obama fell back on his typical rhetorical manner of relying on his generalizations with no facts to support them.
ABC was so biased it was professionally embarrassing. Toward the end of the debate as Mitt Romney proclaimed that he supported 100% of the people, ABC not Obama rebutted that statement by quoting Romney’s 47% not being responsible or caring about who got elected as long as they got their entitlement paid, captioned on the blue banner below the screen. That once again was the ABC network helping Obama with an response that the Pressident personally never gave. That was not only slanted, but it was unethical for ABC to contribute that help by putting words in Obama’s mouth.
The summary given by ABC correspondents who gave what technically seemed to be commentary when in fact it was the leftist agenda of the network emerging as every angle favoring Obama. It was such a misrepresentation of the actual debate that it was nauseating. America’s definition of journalism and editorialism is so far from objective reality that it was a slap in the face to anyone who thinks and has a brain.
At the end of the debate Dick Durbin was interviewed and gave a predictably positive assessment when there was little that one could say Obama had done to strengthen his argument for the last 4 years of economic decline. Where as Romney was bright and engaging with effective answers and the factual information that he provided, Obama was still using empty charismatic promises for the future as opposed to the truth.
The big moment occurred when the question over Benghazi and the murder of Ambassador Stevens in Libya. The facts support the reality that the Obama state department and White House refused to identify the Libyan attacks as being as a result of well planned attacks by Islamist extremists instead blaming a little known film on You Tube instead of attributing the cause of burning 20 US consulates through out the Arab world. The truth is Obama made no such statement about the attacks being a terrorist attack. He was blaming an inappropriate film about Muslims.
Obama lied about the production of gas and oil being increased on federal lands when in fact the Obama White House was discouraging oil production on federal lands when the only increase in production was due to exploration in private land leases. A blatant lie verbalized by Obama, yet supported by ABC who said that Democrats did support greatly reduced oil and gas production just not as much as Romney had claimed.
The commentators also claimed that Americans were not interested in who was responsible for less oil and gas productions only that their gas prices at the pump were more affordable. This is a patent lie as most people I have talked to want the truth whether it involves an argument or not as opposed to ABC deciding for us how we feel and react to the facts without asking us.
ABC continued to trumpet that even though it was an extremely close race that despite GOP leadership thinking they were winning over former Obama supporters, the President would win by a narrow margin. ABC’s continual repetition that had Obama been as sharp in Denver a week before as he was tonight, the race would have been over by now, reflects blatant bias that should be determined by the people not the propagandists who claim to be journalists. This is an incredible distortion of the truth.
The truth is that Obama was not much different than he was in the previous debate, Romney was even more forceful and comfortable with communicating his plans for reform. The difference in all this is the media spin. The US press corps wants Obama in the White House for another 4 years despite the most desperate years known to Americans within memory. Our media would have us believe that we need more of this decline and desperation as our major media broadcasting giants being owned by multinational interests who want the US in decline. This event is a testament to the ongoing deception and movement toward transforming America into a third world nation under socialist rule under the weight of big government.
My take. Mitt Romney won the debate handily as Obama had nothing new to say or offer other than engaging his opponent more aggressively with nothing more in facts but his assertions that he was taking care of this and he was attending to that. Romney simply pointed out with the facts to back it up, that Obama had his chance even with full majority at his whim for 2 years and did nothing but unleash a costly nationalized health care program that the majority of Americans were against. Advantage Romney.
Quote from Joseph Goebbels: “If you tell a big lie long enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”
The bloody pages of history have been written by the statists, fascists, socialists, and collectivists who anticipated that the good people of a nation would be too apathetic to recognize the orchestrated collapse of their nation and freedoms in the hands of the enemy. Joseph Goebbels was one of them. President Obama is another.
