Extended Family tension? DogWoman offers Cat Video as cure!

Rate: 12 Flag

Concerned about spending all day with family you love but find hard to talk to about a number of subjects? Coming from such a family (as recounted by my sister The Wood Elf in a post about pre-election e-mail), I can offer one subject that is probably safe and may be unifying—love of animals and pets.

I formed friendships here on OS with bloggers with whom I disagree about politics but with whom I share a passion for animals back when I was helping The Weasel assemble her cabinet (if your pet would like to hold a cabinet position, see here and let me know).

While browsing Kerry’s blog one day, I found this amusing cat video, which I e-mailed to non-OS friends. In reply, my niece who is a college student at Hanover (and part of the family whose politics are at the other end of the spectrum from my own) sent me another You Tube cat video that I think is absolutely hilarious.

If this doesn’t make your relatives and friends smile, they may need to have their sense of humor examined. It starts slow, but then really gets on a roll. Hang on tight and don’t look away.

Hope maybe you can share this tomorrow to jump-start a discussion on a safe subject! If you exhaust pets and animals, I’ve found that looking through old family photos can be a fun way to spend time together too.

Mary’s Thanksgiving post with our wishes for you & your family can be read here if you haven’t checked it out yet.

For OS in-joke entertainment, check out my Steve’s updated post BREAKING NEWS: Behind Blue Eyes’ identity revealed UPDATE!!

Also, ddcatwoman has another funny cat video here.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Some of those aerobatic cats are something to behold. My cats enjoy following the light beam of my son's Nerf gun, similar to some of the action in the video. Other than that they're fairly sedate, no spinning on ceiling fans, etc.

(Rated for paw power!)
those are Crazy Kitties!
I laughed until i could not breathe.
I hope none were hurt......
Hysterical! (but, ow! the ceiling fan!)
lol Mary. Cats, I'm a dog guy. I love all animals, but cats are, ummm, different... :-)

rated for humor
Thanks,
Greg
lol catz! Thanks for a T'giving morning belly laugh. Now I really have to stop reading OS and get myself over to my Mom's ;)
I am in tears over here! Thanks so much for sharing, that was a much needed laugh!
Love the author tags!
We had plenty to talk about yesterday but the timing is perfect for today. I'm sure my kids will love it. Thanks!
I saw the ceiling fan and thought "this can't be good." Our three have amused us in similar ways way past kittenhood. Sadly, Poudre thinks the fan is a predator. We have to run it to spread the woodstove heat out and about. He's getting a little better, but that frightened cry - oh it tears you up. The Sec'y of Asian Affairs, Moesita, is the one who imitates the vertical takeoff jet. A neighbor and friend was toying with the laser pointer thingy too. One night she awoke to hear her outgoing message again and again. The cat had finally "cornered the laser." This made me laugh so hard - thanks.
Damn, that's good! And I have parrots!
Great video. I've seen parts of it before, but not all. I particularly think the very end shot is appropriate. And I love the cat that scares the bear away.

Thanks! (Although I'm glad my girls are a LITTLE more sedate than this!)
