Extreme Sheepherding

Rate: 8 Flag

Received this in an e-mail from my husband Steve's college volleyball coach, who owned an amazing German Shepherd named Shaker while we were in college at Earlham.  David is one of the few people I know who "gets" the way I feel about dogs.  He received this from his daughter, so it appears to be a family affair.

I thought this Welsh sheepdog diversion would cheer everyone up on a Saturday afternoon.  Amazing stuff -- the Pong and Mona Lisa in particular, though the fireworks at the end are also a personal favorite.

Enjoy!!!  :)

Here's an explanatory video produced by the BBC.

now that was one of the most bizarre things i've ever seen.
Oh mon Dieu (in honor of the Fin)!!! You have to love the Welsh, Prince Charlie notwithstanding. I met a Welshman and his sheep on my summer Quest in 1999: he would, as would any good Welshman, happily join this band of Baaa-studs. They just rock. Could we put them in charge of the world for a term and let them herd politicians with those clever dogs? I'd pay to see THAT video. Go Samsung. Rated for weekend entertainment.
The Baaa-studs!!!! Fantastic!!!! Cheers!
My husband Steve sent me an article about this on the Huffington Post and I found the second video by the BBC in the comments. I'm glad people are enjoying this!
What a fun post. Dogs are amazing! I've really fallen in love with the herding dogs. Bear's blue heeler came out in her when she first saw a horse. It was amazing to watch her expressions (kind of nerve wrecking too since I didn't think the owner of the horse wanted it herded). I can't run with Bear because she continually herds my by nipping at my elbows, but never was there a more faithful, loyal, smart and loving dog. rated and shared with facebook friends.

Hope you're finally feeling better!
There's nothing like herders. So sayeth the Finn
Hallelujah! You're back! WOOF WOOF WOOF.

The videos are great. "Babe" one of our all time favorite movies. While chasing stupid lower species is not what some of us higher canine forms do, those sheepdog are so smart! Woofs to y'all and Iron Jaws.

WOOF
Herding dogs rule! :o)
