Bio
Married for thirty six years and the mother of the two grown children, I began writing at the age of ten. My first success was winning a poetry contest in grammar school. From that moment forward, I realized that the written word was as vital to my survival as food and air. I am presently working on two books, one of which I hope to finish before I die. A number of my poems have graced A Long Story Short, and I have been published in the Lucidity Journal. Each day inspires me...what I see, hear and experience.... if it stays in my mind, I write about it. __________________________________________ "To believe in something not yet proved and to underwrite it with our lives: It is the only way we can leave the future open." Burt Reynolds Brings His Master Class to Lyric Theatre

BRIFT Winter Showcase follows in January

Stuart, Fl: Martin County residents are in for a treat when mega star Burt Reynolds brings his master acting class to the stage at the Lyric Theatre in downtown Stuart. Having filled the Lyric to capacity during his recent one man show, Reynolds returns on December 2nd at 7 pm to preview the “Acting for the Camera” course he will teach at the Lyric’s Flagler Center after the first of the year.

Martin County actors will be afforded the same opportunity that Palm Beach County actors attending the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) in Jupiter have enjoyed for years – the benefit of Mr. Reynolds vast experience in the entertainment industry. December 2nd will be a once in a lifetime chance to see Burt Reynolds direct his Master Class actors in selected scenes from well-known plays. Actors wishing to take “Acting for the Camera” will get a preview of course curriculum, and those who merely dream of acting will have an opportunity to witness the process up close and personal.

Audience members will be able to “audit” the class. Auditing will allow those in attendance to ask questions of Mr. Reynolds in order to better understand why a student is directed in a particular manner. Prior to the performance, Master Class actors will be in the lobby to answer questions as well. BRIFT staff members will be on hand with registration forms for those interested in auditioning for the new class.

As if the December 2nd event wasn’t enough, Burt Reynolds will return to the Lyric Stage again on January 13, 2012 for the BRIFT Winter Showcase. Ten carefully chosen scenes directed by Mr. Reynolds and performed by his master class actors will highlight an evening of live theater. These are the actors who have already benefitted from Mr. Reynolds expertise and are about to move into a new phase of their careers.

Burt Reynolds is a talented actor, an articulate story teller, an insightful director and a consummate professional. His love for the arts is obvious in all he does. One has only to watch him guide his students on stage to recognize the respect and admiration they have for their teacher. On December 2nd and January 13th, actors and non-actors alike will be given a chance to witness raw talent being molded and refined by the master himself.

The Lyric Theatre is located at 59 SW Flagler Avenue, Stuart, Florida. For ticket information, please call the Lyric Theatre box office at 772 286-7827.

Would love to have dinner with him and hear some of his old stories. How old is he?

Hope all is well, Dr. Levine
Oh My, my brother was called BR for years and now he is gone but not Burt.
Evan,

Mr. Reynolds will be 76 in February. He is still a handsome devil! The picture I wanted to post was too big and I could not resize it. This one just doesn't do him justice. His old stories -- they are the best! Had a four hour meeting with him last week, and I never get tired of hearing of his adventures. He is just as charming (a real gentleman) in person as he is on screen. I am the Director of Finance/Publicist at the Burt Reynolds Institute and we are all working hard to raise funds for a new, bigger, better Museum and Institute, which will become the permanent home for Mr. Reynolds 55 years of Hollywood and sports memorabilia, class rooms (we are a boutique school and Mr. Reynolds teaches his master class there), editing suites, black box theater, etc. If you know of any theater angels who might like to donate, please send them my way! Thanks.
