Today is when I am starting to restore some sanity about money and health and needing STUFF to my life through small steps.
1. I am halfway through cleaning the closet and throwing stuff out. There is a lot I have not worn in two years because it no longer fits and will never fit again (small baby girl t-shirts -- no), is no longer in style, or because well for a year or so most of the time all I needed was pajamas when I was working from home while dealing with illness. Every time I opened the closet I felt discouraged and it is time to just get rid of stuff. I also got rid of many shoes and purses. My feet have changed and my love affair with high heels is not a healthy one right now. I am also going to Arkansas next week for a few days and all my cold weather clothes were in there somewhere. I found them.
2. I am on a diet to eat more healthy and fewer calories, as well as to eat what is in the freezer and pantry so I can make better choices in the future. Thus I am combining some frozen shrimp with some frozen steamed vegetables for lunch. I have a feeling those combos will get a little ugly the further I get into eating through the freezer ;0)
3. I need to drink more water and less of everything else although I am never ever going to give up the iced tea ;0) It is my major vice. We also have about 10 huge jugs of bottled water bought for a hurricane season that was calm. So I need to drink them for reason #2 as well.
I hope to be leaner and smarter in six months. One can dream ;0)

That closet cleaning stuff can be very therapeutic! You go for it!

we all buy too much in this country.
I already got rid of almost everything I owned when I moved South. It was both painful and liberating.
I wish you much success. Whatever you do, I think you're extremely great right now, so there you go.
