You remember that scene from Animal House when Kevin Bacon's character is in the middle of street parade turned riot, arms raised telling everyone, "Remain calm, all is well!" It kinda reminds me of the the GOP and their latest talking point.
On a day that the Labor Department released a report that the U.S. has lost 1.8 million jobs in the last three months and U.S. unemployment now stands at 7.6 percent, the highest in nearly two decades, Republicans are stonewalling all immediate attempts to help the economy recover. As millions of Americans lose their jobs, GOP Senators are in unison with their talking point playing things in a very laid back fashion basically saying that there's no rush to stop the bleeding.
Here's a few examples of the current GOP parroting.
Lindsey Graham (R-SC):"We need to slow down, take a timeout, and get it right."
John Ensign (R-NV): "There is no hurry."
Tom Coburn (R-OK): "There’s no reason for us to hurry up..."
Just so I'm not taking their words out of context, below is a video compilation of the Senators making their cases.
And just for fun, here's the clip from Animal House.

Their calm comes from being comatose. The rest of us have to deal with reality.
Perhaps they can have an "Awakening," like in that movie where Robin Williams brings comatose patients back to normality by cutting marginal tax rates.
Or, maybe "stimulus" fund a study on how cutting marginal tax rates cures common colds, finds lost dogs, and quickly repairs tears in any furniture, including leather.
Remain calm. The titanic is merely listing a bit, and we'll all be docking in New York on schedule, thanks to reduced capital gains.
