Something curious actually happened on a Sunday morning talk show! A Fox employee agreed with an MSNBC pundit about the how government could create some jobs and look good doing it. I know, right?!
During the roundtable discussion on ABC's This Week, Fox Business anchor Liz Claman echoed Rachel Maddow's call for the government to get back into the business of creating huge public works projects like the Hoover Dam.
"We don't have jobs recovering and everybody knows that ... But people are saying, 'where is our Hoover Dam moment?" ... if that is psychologically in their minds, that we haven't seen these massive projects come to pass that would soak up the greatest number of people who are unemployed..."
Maddow offered the same kind of advice months ago in that pitifully mocked "Lean Forward" promo set in front of the Hoover Dam.
"This is a national project. This is a project of national significance. We've got those projects on the menu now, and we've got to figure out wether or not we are still a country that can think this big."
President Barack Obama, that great believer in the idea that left and right can come together, best be paying attention to cable personalities now.
