The Case For Racisim

Rate: 16 Flag

white power unicorn on a dudes ass

Racisim is not evil, bad or wrong.  It is a harmless belief that can actually benefit individiuals, our nation and the world as a whole.

For too long we've simply accepted everything we've been told about racisim, without actually examining the potential benefits and positive effects racisim can generate in our lives.

Living in an age where we have been taught that racisim is the height of evil, it is hard to believe there might be a rational argument for its existence.

Many people live for the day we have no racisits or racisim in the world.   The struggle against racial oppression has shaped the world we live in, from affirmative action to white guilt being a factor in the election of the president of the United States.

What if that is a mistake?  What if racisim isn't the problem at all? What if the violence, anger and prejudice associated with racisim that are the real problems that we refuse to face.  What if white guilt and the quest to believe we are all the same is driving us away from who we really are?

Time to get honest people.

We are all a little bit racist, no matter how much we deny it.  Just acknowleging that we are one race or another, just marking down a category on a survey of who we identify with makes us micro-racists.

If there were no racisim in the world we would all be 'color blind', ignoring the critical factor of our skin color in determining how to look at eachother.

Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh wouldn't haven an audience and they would starve to death.  How nice is it to starve people to death?

With just a little more racisim in the world, Vanilla Ice would have never happened.  You can't tell me that's not a good thing.

I know from looking at a person's skin color, walking down the street that all sorts of statistics apply to that person due to demographic studies.  Positive and negative both.  These things will help me in my interactions with that person.

Hey, white guy in cowboy boots, I'll bet you listen to Taylor Swift.  I know not to get in your pick-up truck!

Without racisim in the world, that would be impossible to do.  Besides, it is not going to go away unless we breed it out.

We're talking about genocide here, in response to an attitude.  Madness.

Sure the KKK gives white supremists a bad name.  Hell, most white supremists give white supremists a bad name, but is the belief, in and of of itself, harmful?

Think about it for a second before you respond.

If I, as a white man, think "I am superior to black people because of my skin color," is that thought dangerous or harmful?

Of course not.

If I say "I am superior to blacks," what harmful effects does that have on the world?

First off, black people hearing it will be offended and upset.  They will brand me a racist, first off, but then the secondary effects kick in.

They know that ignorance and predjudice are rampant, and by the very existence of such an attitude in the world, they will on either a consious or subconsious level seek to improve themselves based on that judgement.

When a black person says "black power" and believes he is superior because he is black, how does that make those of Latino decent feel, or Asian or White?

These people will all have that initial negative reaction, but then, through that implication that they are inferior, seek to improve themselves to disprove the negative stereotypes leveled against them.

The violence associated with Racisim is just as much a misconception as the violence associated with Islam.

Islam is a religion of peace.  Those who want to destroy America and stone women to death are not represenative of all of Islam.

Racisim is a harmless beleif in racial superiority.  Those who want to destroy the other races are not represenative of all racists.

The idea that we need to 'stamp out racisim' is a knee jerk reaction to the deeper issues of violence, poverty and cultural conflict.

Now, at this point you may still think racisim is bad.  You indeed have the right to feel that way.

You may also feel it is wrong for anyone else to feel differently.

Examine that thought.

Thoughts and feelings must comply with your own?  Harmless thoughts and feelings that happen not to align with yours?

That sounds a lot like mind control.  Thought police.  A world where freedom means nothing.

As people who pride ourselves on having open minds, It might benefit us instead to accept people of all viewpoints in our collective world.

Racisit is a word charged with evil, and it is leveled at people at the drop of a hat.

The racists of the world are shut off, closed away and shunned for their harmless ideology.

Well, unless they're at a meeting with other racists, then they're pretty jazzed, but you get the idea.

It is as if saying those who beleive in God or Hawking are morons and should be shunned, or worse, even hated.

Why increase the hate in the world?

Perhaps instead of simply calling a racist a racist and turning way, it might do the world better to give them a smile.

Embrace their viewpoint for a moment and try to see things from their persective and realize that the diversity of their thought lends to the greater collective picture of our nation and planet.

Without this flavoring in the soup of culture, we would be a far duller dish indeed.

Hug a racist today, instead of responding with anger, or hate.

One day they may be extinct, and then we'll be missing the good old days when we could simply use 'racist' to shut down an argument instead of having to think through a better way to do so.

Besides, that guy in the pic with the rainbow unicorn with the nazi flag on his ass wouldn't have to feel like such a retarded asshole.

Do you have any idea how difficult it is to take something like racisim and try to portray it as good? By the way if I changed your mind and you now think racisim is good, I'm quitting existence, as there is no hope for humanity.
Well, I have to concur quite heartedly. I would be very happy if we all got over our bad selves. I would also love to see the past and those nations/cultures that have erred, as well as those that suffered those errors move the frig on. Hell, I can vote and smoke now ( I know, not as serious an offense as some) but I'm not pissed that at time in history when women couldn't. Well, you just cranked me for the rest of the day. Oh how I love that feeling...damn white German nut job that I am. ~r
ThroughMyEyes - Ahh you bring up a good point. I should have tossed in sexisim too! Silly me. Anyhoo, thank you for visiting. I conceived this bit of insanity late last night, and I about split a gut thinking about the comments this might generate. I should probably take it down before I get lynched.
Poorsinner101 - Soooo...I'll see you at the Storm Front meeting next week then?
You take this down and I will seek you out and hang you from your male chauvinist wally dinkers.
You said wally dinkers!! And I am so a male chauvanist! You say that like it's a bad thing! Without us, women would never have taken control of the universe.
Whoa.

I've always been of a mindset of 'thought is one thing, action is another' Having said that, no one chooses their creed. which kinda makes the entire thing moot. :) But that photos of the tattoo makes me think "what a dumbass."

Then I laugh.

Thanks for making me think. -R-
Making people think is the hard work of the heretical insanopaths of the world.

Thank you for visiting!
This a tough topic... you handled it quite smoothly.

There many topics such as racism, which are just easier to ignore or pretend they don't exist. Everyone carries bias, but few acknowledge their bias or deign to deal with it.
Poorsinner 101 - makes you think, doesn't it? What if I hadn't simply accused you of being a racist?

What if I had simply said, "you're right, white people get a bad rap just for being successful?" would I have been a racist right off the bat? Would I then be agreeing that liberals are pussies?

To be quite frank, to think liberals are pussies is in and of itself, is using the same 'shut down' argument style of saying "sooo I'll see you at the Storm Front meeting."

Actual dialog is taboo, sinner. You should know that better than anyone else. I've seen you avoid it like the black death here for quite some time.
Jay - sorry! Missed your comment there! Indeed it is not an easy topic to tackle, and I appreciate the fact that you think I did a good job with it.

My intention, I assure you, was merely to invoke thought while showing that if I were the propaganda minister of the world, things would be far more interesting.
So, if I'm a racist, thats a good thing because if it wasn't for racism, the world would be better off, right?
You bring up some very interesting points. We are not color blind. A non-racist white person would recognize that someone is black, then treat him no differently than anyone else.

All races and religions in this country, as well as conservatives and liberals, have made different kinds of contributions that collectively make us the great melting pot that we are.

Not being aware of someone's race is impossible. Prejudging because of that race is racist.

Good post.

As far as poorsinner's comments go, I'm always amused by white men who act like being a white man is a burden. I don't think that's true.
ps
I never thought I'd see My Little Pony with a nazi flag.
Roger - Thank you so much for your support, Roger. As far as the white man's burden...you wouldn't understand. You're not white.

Of course neither is anyone, but that's another story for a genetic trace story fire.

Thanks for the comment, and the visit.
Interesting point at this week of the world cup. Some countries have teams of mixed race, and others less so. All of them are celebrating their national pride, and the identity of most nations includes ideas on race, masculinity, religion. Yet, at times like this, we don't decry the rush of joy in celebrating their team and national identity, not just who selected the best players.
Wait - you mean the World Cup, that soccer thing right? Yea. I don't watch that.

Anyway, I have always loved the Olympics. One of my favoirte ones included a very surprised bunch of Germans.

Thank you for your comment though, it does not fall on deaf ears, I'm just being weird today.
Oh for F**k Sakes! Did that asshole have to include a freak'in rainbow???

Now dick weasels like poorsinner are going to be be trolling for only white supremacists queers at the Minneapolis Airport. Do you realize how pissed off Larry Craig is going to be?
Amy - The rainbow in this case symbolizes the destruction of all non-whites and the happy days that will come because of it.

the pony is actually very masculine....errrg..what the hell am I saying.

*Smacks forehead*
The fact that I have sat here, read the post four times, gawked at that guy's behind I don't even know how many times, thought about your words, read through the comments twice, thought about your words some more, read some more - and have had this post up in front of me for nearly half an hour speaks more than any words I might use to comment.

You leave me speechless but very much moved.
The only major problem here is that "races" (plural) don't exist!
Sixteenth century pen-slinger chattel slavery apologists invented the idea to justify the chattel slavery of people who supposedly were "sub-human".
There is only one human race, the rest is family affiliations.
If that weren't true we couldn't all interbreed. See that much?
Oh, and (R)ated for subservive quirkiness and table-turning.
You invoked thought alright, Doug. I *thought* you had lost your damned mind. I kept reading and thinking "okay, he's being facetious" and then a little further think "what the hell has he been smoking?" You're a real shit-disturber, aintya Dougie? Bravo!

@Roger, white men who act like being a white man is a burden are full of shit.

Lezlie
But wait, there's more!!!! How drunk would one have to get to have a unicorn wearing a swaztika armband tatooed on his ass?
That ass tattoo is mesmerizing!

And apologies in advance to the LGBT community, but what is this guy, a fucking Log Cabin Republican? All that rainbow stuff kinda makes you wonder. Plus, a unicorn? No symbolism there, right? Ha!

"Hey, Mary, would you get a load of my ass?"

"My god, Mary, I had no idea you were a racist asshole, but you have a racist asshole now, so you must be one!"

It's Pride in Baltimore. I'm showing this post to all my friends at the parties.
I wonder if you're conflating two ideas
a) being aware of race daily (which isn't racism) and we all are, yes...and
b) believing or assuming that one race or two are INHERENTLY superior to other ones.
The latter is most definitely racism even IF one doesn't act on the belief in overt mean-spirited ways.
And it simply cannot be A Good.
Nonetheless, I admire your talking some issues through that most won't touch.
LC Neal - Thank you very much for the comliment. I'm more creative than I am smart, but I appreciate your kind words!

Kit Duncan - The mind whirls in never ending circles. In challenging assuptions, one is forced to think with an open mind. The problem becomes that we often lose our footing in the chaos that results.

Thanks for reading!

Fred - You are dead on right. Every last word! The conventional usage of the word 'race' has always disturbed me, but by not bringing it up it gave me a platform with wich to paint this rather strange verbal argument.

RWnutjob - Diversity is bad. That could be a whole separate post. As for reading stormfront to learn things, what makes you think I don't? I've been reading stormfront for years, and have learned a great deal about the white power movement as a result. Does it mean I agree? Does it mean I am a racist to learn things? Of course not. To open ones mind is to examine all things, good, evil or otherwise.

Hell, I even turn on Fox news sometimes!

Lezlie - Shit disturber is now going to be offically added to my list of titles! LOL As for losing my mind, looking at the unicorn ass pic could do it to anyone. I plead insanity.

Kat - The world is full of mixed up archetypes. Sacred cow makes the best hamburger. Thanks for sharing this, I don't know if I should be disturbed or pleased. As for the LBGT community, I am offically offended on behalf of all of us in light of that tat.

Jonathan - Ahh...I smell logic! You make a very fine cut between racisim and race awarness that would seem to quickly unravel many of the argument presented above. Let us see if I can take your second statement and do something twisted to it, shall we?

Believing one race is inherantly superior to another can be a good. Remove from the idea all violence and anger and replace it with healthy competition.

An easy way to do this would be to replace 'race' with branch of service. In Army vs. Navy games we all realize we're on the same human team, but we compete and dislike eachother and always try to out-do the other branch.

It could be the same way with racisim if we simply thought about it differently.

Of course what are the chances of that happening? It seems we live in a world unable to do the mental gymnastics required to acheive peace.
i keep trying to read your post, but that damned pic of the rainbowedunicornwiththeswastikaarmbandonthatdude'sass keeps swirling before my eyes! i may have to take an icepick and lobotomize myself to get rid of the freakin' thing!

i don't even want to think about where he has 'mother' tattooed...(r)
MissingK8 - The only thing that I've ever seen more disturbing than that involved sarah palin, a flag and a cross. Thank you for visiting, even if I did scramble your brains.
I hug racists every day. One day I might get shot for it..But I will die trying to convince people to love one another
Rated with hugs
This is a clever way to discuss a really horribly difficult topic. And that tattoo...what can one say?

I have no real idea what "race" I am. Being adopted, I could be Native American, Latino, Middle Eastern - maybe even a small part Afrian American. No clue. I never had understood why people feel that skin color matters.
The only problem with your logic is that

a) There is such a thing as mob behavior. Get enough racists together with a perceived sense of injustice, and we can all have a lynching.

b) Racism is all by itself an enabler to violent behavior. You mistakenly assume that all people are naturally peaceful, rational, and well adjusted. What happens when you have a racist who fails on all three counts?
Ok! I'm back, I'll try to answer as rationally as I can!

Linda - You are wonderful and awesome. This is why I love your writing and comments.

Blue in TX - Thank you for the compliment. In reality none of us really know anything about our race. The fact is we're all from africa if you follow the genetics far enough back. It's just a matter of how recent people want to talk.

RJ Stucker - It is very important to realize that by causing people to be pissed off and engaged at the same time without killing you, certain forms of humor must be implimented.

The bottom line is that the enemy is hate, rather than rational discourse and understanding.

I am neither 'left' nor 'right.' I don't like rush and glenn because they're morons, not because they're racists, which they are. I don't think everyone on the right is a racist, nor is everyone on the left against hate.

My ultimate idea is to inspire thought, which is often more difficult to do than simply parrot the same old stuff.

We win nothing by putting up our sheilds and calling it a day, after neatly boxing eachother the way we think we need to.

The truth is, people who say 'racist' because you're a Libertarian are retards.

That doesn't make the entire left evil, nor does it absolve people of personal responsibility.

Thank you for commenting and visiting!

Old New Lefty - On your points. A) the same thing could be said about a group of people who hate Disco. Mob mentalities are not generated by the issues, they're generated by fervor and extremisim. Solve that and we have a cool world.

B.) People who are rational, well adjusted and peaceful cannot be inspired to violence by an idea like racial superiority. People who are irrational violent and crazy can be made to kill over twinkies.

Thank you though, for visiting!
poorsinner: "To the point, what I hate is that the one class, gender, religion and race that is PC to insult is white middle class male Christians."

Right, because unlike the Jews, white Christians run everything. We liberals also like to make fun of upper class white Christians and how they like to pretend that they are middle class.

Sinner, didn't you get the memo about how shit would go down before you were born white? I did. That's why I checked the Caucasian box-- you know, because of the White People Lucre (formerly known as Jew Gold).
cjackbOnOpen - I checked the box that said "other" and wound up with over 34 different racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Humph. Thanks for visiting.
Brave, skillful, ironic put-on, Doug. I laffed, am laffing, but I would hafta add - and it may be embedded in your irony here - that their ignorance spawns the fear that fathers the hatred that commits the atrocities. Our laffing at them doesn't make them less dangerous. It may even intensify their lethality. But I'm still laffing.
Matt - Dangeorus people are always dangerous. That's why I carry a loaded weapon at all times. As a shit disturber, I find it's better that way.

I'm glad you laughed. Without laughter, we are lost. Thank you very much for visiting!
I can treat you like crap, even kill you, without feeling bad or even being questioned in my actions ... because you are less than me.

Are you joking or are you serious when you ask this:

"If I say "I am superior to blacks," what harmful effects does that have on the world?"

And I'm gonna cry over this:

"The racists of the world are shut off, closed away and shunned for their harmless ideology."

Oh those poor racists ... boo hoo.

You know there is such a thing as being too sympathetic.

When someone wants to revive Nazism or incite violence against non-whites or install racial discrimination laws they should be thrown into the trash can of society.

What comes next, Doug?

Sympathy for rapists? Child molesters? Serial killers?

Yes, none of those people are on the same level of racists. But ideas & words are powerful and influence others.

Freedom of speech lets them say it, and freedom of religion lets me wish death on them using the Bible.
Who said: Dying is easy; comedy is hard? Trust your readers. Except for the sinner, the wolfman, the Libertarian and the Progressive Liberal.
OOOoooKay,

I really enjoyed your comment on my last post, and I really enjoyed your post on the Pink Pistols- didn’t have time to read the rest of your stuff, but was looking forward to it.
Would have commented that as a Member of the NRA, I’ve been aware of the Pink Pistols since around the time they started (Mid 90’s?) anyway, you don’t seem like the type who would be too surprised that many ( Most ? who knows) of us hard core second amendment types really don’t care whether you like guys or girls or whether you’re white or Navi Blue. We believe citizens should defend themselves. (But , you read and actually understood my post on self defence, so you get huge points in my book for ability to understand “an exhaustive looping madness of mighty words and definitions”)

On that basis, I made you a favorite and was looking forward to following your blog.

Wow. Did your Title and first paragraphs set off the “Weird Alarm”
I was wondering whether I was gonna have to un favorite you as quick as I’d decided I wanted to favorite you.

Anyway, I read it through, and ……….

You really do like stirring the shit, don’t you?
That’s OK- I love to watch people stir shit.
Gimme a beer and get on with it- I’ll be in the background soaking up the vibes and catching up on your previous writing.
Progressive Liberal - I am very glad you came and commented here. I admire your ability to express your opinion without resorting to name calling, while still showing a good deal of emotion. I would suggest, however, that you read my first comment on the thread.

Billy Glad - Now isn't that the truth! Thanks for the back pat, and as for those that either didn't get it or chose to engage in lively debate....they're fans too, even if they don't know it yet. By the time I'm done here, everyone will be a fan. Or, everyone will hate me so greatly that I'll explode from the negative vibes. Either way I'll have acheived my goal.

Token - Awesome comment! Glad to see another member of the NRA around here! I'm glad you liked this post, even if it was totally insane. My other work is far better I assure you. The upcoming ones might disturb some people, but I promise to get the old neurons firing if I can.

Thanks for coming by, enjoy the show!
Socks, I would not be so kind toward prog. liberal. The internets is a place where we remove all barriers to naked expression-- small talk, politeness, and forgiveness. Clearly, prog. liberal subverts the spirit of internets culture, and it must be banished from the land.

Plus, prog. liberal enforces the stereotype that liberals are all uptight and easily offended. As a liberal, liberal prog's behavior exposes my enumerable insecurities, and I therefore feel defensive.
lol, "enumerable" just means "able to be counted"
cjackbOnOpen - Unless someone attacks me personally, I don't delete comments or call for banishment. Everyone has a right to their opinion, even Poorsinner101. The idea is to get people to think past their boxes.

Having been both a conservative republican and a liberal democrat at different stages of my political evolution, I can understand the feelings on both sides of most issues.

I do tend to poke with a burning stick, however, which is more a fault than a boon, but hey, we're not all perfect.

Thank you for visiting again, Jack.
Socks, I would not be so kind toward me. The internets is a place where we remove all barriers to naked expression-- small talk, politeness, and forgiveness....
I'm with Kit Duncan. I read it twice to make sure I didn't miss something---like the 'hook' somewhere that activates the moment of insight. I was thrown off slightly by the misspellings---effective or defective? Oh well. Maybe I missed it. It all sounds bold and it rings with candor and common sense but candor never is an end in itself nor is it the point we summit through the pitons of liberty.
Certainly, there's always a strong case to be made for affirming one's own ancestors, but the idea that racism has value because of the heroic emancipation stories that it inspired is like saying hitting yourself in the head with a hammer has merit because it feels so good when you stop. Come to think of it...they tried that...sort of. It's called electroshock therapy. I'd suggest a re-write. I've got an idea! Why not write about how the Edsel was one hell of a great Ford model because it made Corvair drivers feel superior?
