#7 “Maverick, I flew with his old man. Tell me one thing, if you had to go into battle would you want him with you?” Viper - Top Gun 1986
What makes you think a person is deemed "excellent"? Is it the outside perception or "hear say" that affirms your belief in their credibility? I rarely give a person the benefit of a doubt. I am analytical by nature, and very particular with first impressions. So I most likely have to be convinced of their reliability.
Is status a deal breaker? Are we intimidated by those of higher excellence? Shy ed away from those of less rankings?
From the outside looking in, people... happy people that is... come across like they have it all. The perfect life, career, family, house, and friends. Yet.. what do we consider "perfect"? Are they completely happy? Are you completely happy and that allows you to see other's happiness?
I bring up the topic of "do you really have it all", and "what destitutes having it all"? Each standard is interpreted differently. I may come across as having it all, the perfect life, career, family, house and friends.. but do you really know if I judge that as true? Do I compete myself for status rankings? Society is an "outside-looking-in" environment. Borderline doomed, because we as individuals create our own perceptions based on how the images of reality are persuaded to us.
So, what destitutes having it all? How do you rank your circumstances and those around you?
Take a moment to look at your life from the outside. What is the ideal life, the perfect paycheck, or the greatest friend? We as humans flock to those like us. Similar attributes, beliefs, and morals. But, next time you are comparing your lawn to your neighbors, or your car to your friends... think about what you would do differently if you had to tell your competition the one thing you wanted to change.
