#40 “All right, I’m gonna give you a choice. You can either have the money and the hammer or you can walk out of here. You can’t have both. What do you want?” Ace Rothstein - Casino 1995
Choices.. choices... choices. Yet, how do we pick? Are we tempted by choices? Don't you hate going to a restaurant when there are a gazillion choices? Don't you hate going to the grocery store when all you want is a specific product, yet there are four different ways to get it? I would have to say the most typical choices we compete are along the lines of time and money.
What should I do with my time? What should I spend this money on?
When it all adds up; both time and money; its best to realize there is no right answer. There isn't a rule book on time, there isn't a rule book on money. There are many resources in the media that are related to time and money. Books, seminars, magazines and even movies. Its a race to be rich and a sprint to find the time. We are calculating our risk on the return of our investment each time we take the gamble to mess with it. If you question time and question money you not only doubt your choice, you may become a nymph to it.
As we start to un-cover that time is competition on anothers watch, and money is competition in anothers wallet; we will understand that the more we battle with it, the harder it will be to win.
Winning money in a game of cards, or by picking a scheme of random numbers for a lottery, we are betting the odds that we are the isolated winner. When we race the clock to arrive on time, or to set an appointment at a specific time, we are assuming time is the given precedent for all involved. A dollar is a dollar and 5 o'clock means 5 o'clock. If you could gain an hour each day, and an extra dollar each minute what would you do with it?
Can you ultimately have continued competition with time and money simultaneously?
Remember.. in our country time is money. How you spend it is like a game of craps... you win or you lose; but at some point you must step back and either accept the risk or take the reward.
