#48 My name is Gladiator…What we do in life echoes in eternity. ” Maximus - Gladiator 2000
Are we man enough to call ourselves gladiators? Do we fight for what we want, when we want? Are we standing tall after we've fallen so low? To become a gladiator you must know you are a warrior; because its just you and your sword against the world and their shield. As we engage in competition from life, do we realize what it entails to win against the brave and overcome the weak? We, as walking symbols come from different backgrounds, different ideologies... different stereotypes. Our existence of who we are stems from our history.
Are we making history?
Is it historical to say that every time we want to win, we make sure we don't lose? Is it historical to say that others have helped us persevere when we couldn't follow through ourselves? Is it historical to stand up and make a difference when everyone else is sitting? We are here for a reason; depicted by each individual differently, but, ultimately we are alive to survive. We are breathing to speak. We are given competition to compete. If life didn't evoke a self-sacrificing model of survival of the fittest, why do we try harder to become accepted?
"Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?" - Maximus
Who's job is it to entertain you on a daily basis? Are you an entertainer by nature? Up there on the stage of life making others feel good. If we continue to entertain the world, are we forgetting about our audience? Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Can you exude confidence in yourself during an uncomfortable situation? The moment we come to terms with the idea that we are given a choice, we must choose the right verbatim.
To speak with a purpose, is to excel with a mission.
If a hero wanted to be revealed, are we ready to see who's behind the mask? If a warrior is ready to be accepted, are we ready to deem them a champion? When we come to terms with who we want to be, we just can't be any better. We have discovered the image we want to be. We have discovered we are no different than we used to be. Just now we are a gladiator. We are not afraid of fear; we are not scared of wonder. We are alive with purpose. We are content with becoming someone's hero.
