#50 “I don’t scratch my head unless it itches and I don’t dance unless I hear some music. I will not be intimidated. That’s just the way it is.” Coach Boone - Remember the Titans 2000
If we use our heads to think, and use our feet to dance, why are we competing the intimidation of the game to win? Is intimidation more than the assumption that you could fail? Is intimidation assuming you might actually win? I fear to fail; I fear the win, but I move my feet and feel the pain.
To say ones not intimidated, is to say that one doesn't fear. To say some one is a winner is to say they overcame the fear.
No one wants to admit they are afraid. We hide that feeling from those who see us as strong, brave and focused. To show hesitation in the game of life, we'd only be cowards to our own ideal that we are perfect. No one gets up everyday and talks themselves out of fear in front of the mirror. We look at ourselves and know that we are perfect. We look at the person we know inside and we move through the day's challenges step by step.
Does everyone see who we are inside before they see what's outside?
Think about a time where you couldn't hide behind perception. Think about a time where you didn't have to be intimidated by the unknown because you were the exception. Who sets you up to that ideal that you are genuine? Are you told that because you are someones purpose? Or have you discovered that on your own because you became the purpose?
Confidence is power. Likelihood is earned. Fear is not failure. Intimidation is within us all.
Intimidation doesn't have to be about sports, the opponent or yourself. It can be about what comes at you in life. How you address it, makes you, you. We can scratch our heads and know the desire, and we can dance with our feet and feel the pain. But without knowing the perfect tune are we waiting for the music to be played? Or are we ready to dance around in fear?
