Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#52 “This time the mission is the man.” Sergeant Horvath - Saving Private Ryan 1998

Rate: 0 Flag

saving-private-ryan-posterCompetition surrounds us. Sacrifice, and conflict is inevitable. As we push ourselves to the limit, we find ourselves judging our most trusted alliance; our conscious. We find ourselves confiding in something we can't describe. When we see that our goals turn out different than our paths; we realize what we have lost, instead of gained. Brotherhood and comradery; its time to choose, its time to even the score.

FUBAR!

What does it take to engage in such competition? The competitive surroundings of life, of courage and of perseverance. We fight for someone each day. We get up for someone each day. We work our ass off for someone each day. Who is that someone? Do we go to battle for them? Are we saving them? When we accept knowing that we compete choices grander than physical exertion; we accept knowing we are alive, yet we don't realize we're dying.

What does if feel like to be alive? Do we honestly know? Is being alive an act or an understanding?

If life continues to be about living, we shouldn't spend our days dying to live. No one chooses to be born, but do we sometimes choose our death? Think about this for a second... do you compete death or do you embrace life? Saving Private Ryan is about going back in the trenches to save a life, to give a man a future. What are your daily trenches? Is it the alarm clock? Is it the routine? Is it the "doing what I'm supposed to be doing" attitude?

It's like playing capture the flag...vigorous obstacles, scavenger hunts and competition for the ultimate win.

Who tells you when the opponent's flag is raised? Do you keep competing, not knowing you have already lost? As we age we come to terms with the idea that who gets to it first is usually the winner. Who finds it first, is usually the winner. But, can the underdog swoop up from behind? Can the winner be the one living instead of dying in competition?

Fucked up beyond all recognition, and you thought it just maybe couldn't be explained.
