Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#58 “Our mission was called “a successful failure,” in that we returned safely but never made it to the Moon.” Jim Lovell - Apollo 13 1995

Rate: 0 Flag

apollo-13Do we have a mission in life? Do we want to find comfort in knowing that others missions are in our same atmosphere? If life comes with a purpose for each of us, are we cynics to the fact that the mission to the moon is just a successful failure? Some people find it addicting to strive to be better, combat their mission in life, and win with others praise. If we continue to ignore each others purpose and eachothers dreams, are we continuing to eliminate existence in the meaning of people?

"Houston, we have a problem." - Jim Lovell

I look up at the moon sometimes; I wait for it to be full, I wait for it to have a  slight rigid cut-out, with a little shaded edge. The moon sets me back down to earth, its a mystery in itself. Traveling in space was someones dream. Traveling in space was someones mission. If we didn't support that mission, could we have seen space travel fail? Would the world lose because we have never walked on the moon, or would we have never found the gravitational pull when entering and leaving the atmosphere?

If we allow people's missions to be conquered, are we saying we allow the mission of the man to be competitive?

What would it take for you to conquer your mission? Do you have a mission in life that holds you back from living? As I realize each day what my life entails; I realize the day later that I'm not reaching the moon. Is it fear, is it uncomfortable; is it risky to shoot for the stars? I know that each one of has purpose. Each one of us has a place in life. Whether it be strapped in a space shuttle or sitting behind the scenes articulating life's purpose... we are mission critical to survival.

"From now on, we live in a world where man has walked on the moon. And it's not a miracle, we just decided to go." - Jim Lovell
