Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

rent1"Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes...How do you measure, measure a year? In daylights, in sunsets, in midnights, in cups of coffee. In inches, in miles, in laughter, in strife. In five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes - how do you measure a year in the life?" RENT 2005

So.. this movie is kinda an inside joke with my bro. Its too funny how a weekend away can generate a lifetime of memories. We watched this movie one weekend visiting him in San Diego. Because I insisted we watch this movie, we have spent the past 4 years never forgeting this song...

"Five hundred twenty-five thousand six hundred minutes"

A movie can't really be awful if it has affected you in so many ways. Maybe we didn't like the  movie, but we sure have enjoyed the song. This song was played everytime the characters had a moment in the film. You know where they were doubtful, or happy. Energetic or sad. As movies take us on different journeys through time, its the reflection of how we see the meaning so many years later that brings us great joy. My bro gives me a movie for Christmas yesterday, and my memories of that weekend are instantly visable.

How is it that our most laughable times are the most memorable?

What memories in your life has exuded such moments of years later? Where you are in a "I remember when" conversation and each person is one up'ing the other with humor, and "dude.. do you know how stupid that looked?" interaction? Its so great to reflect on laughter, and remember the tears from the burning in your stomach when you just found something so humorous that you couldn't stand up straight.

If movies are meant to give us repeated laughter, is it the life we make of it that always gets the joke?

As I sing this song in my head over and over; I remember the look on everyone's face when the story was first told. I can recall sitting on my bro's couch watching this movie and forcing ourselves to finish it. Making memories, finding humor in memories and creating new memories is what life should entail. Today is the day after Christmas. Many of you have kids, or understand how it feels to see someone so excited to open a gift. Share the day after Christmas reflecting on moments where you know they will be told to someone at some point in a future conversation.

If life is about laughter, it is just as important to tell and re-tell your favorite story.
