Hmmm.. the fascination of visual appeal. Isn’t life a complete visual? We glimpse into life’s attributes as a spectator sport. We stare, we glance, we gaze and admire; yet, if the world is a picture playground is it ok to take a sneak peak? Pictures last longer than a split second. Some pictures are formalized, some are random, and others… a little more thought out. If you could watch someone for a day, who would it be?
Are people obsessed with visuals? Are we attracted to aesthetics? Are we visual nymphs?
If we weren’t visually turned on by the obvious, why wouldn’t we take a second glance? People are walking symbols. Some are symbols of sexuality and others the cute, the strong and the brave. We are wearing labels, our bodies exude presence. When you are intriguing, you get more looks, when you are confident, you get status. Who’s ever told someone they were confident? I believe confidence is in your walk, in your talk and in your mannerism.
If confidence is a catalyst to sexuality; what makes someone sexy?
I recall knowing at one point that sexiness happened behind the scenes, in the most intimate surroundings. Yet, as we look around (and how could you not), sexuality is right out your window. You don’t need to go far anymore to see someone in their birthday suit, you don’t need to mentally undress someone because they are already half dressed and the mystery is nothing to be solved. Sexuality is something that isn’t planned. My friend once told me that you can’t force sexuality; it can be in a look, it can be seen through someones eyes how much they want you, it doesn’t have to be captured.
If sexuality is so intriguing, why are we making it so obvious? Isn’t erotic nature forbidden?
I wonder why we don’t save the mystery for someone. I wonder why we are allowing the world to see our playground without having to climb the stairs or go down the slide. As you go about your day today, pay close attention to those expressing their sexuality. Pay attention to those who seek to find their sexuality. Its OK to glance at them, but, don’t stare… it could mean you are interested, and that is just another blog post to come.
We all can admit that its curiosity that makes us look, but, when we choose to watch, are we still as curious?
