Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#84 “You have a bullshit answer for everything.” Sean - Good Will Hunting 1997

Rate: 0 Flag

good-will-hunting2Bullshit! I think by far, that is my most favorite word. It could be two words if you stretch it out, especially when you are playing a game of cards and you doubt someone’s integrety. Or perhaps when you are calling someone out on their pathetic performance. The word/s bullshit is actually in the dictionary. It means nonsense; to lie; and/ or exaggerate. Interesting. I thought bullshit was just a  term of slang  people used when they thought someone was trying to decieve them, or doubt them.

Bless you (as I sneeze), because I am allergic to bullshit.

How much do people really value words? How much do we ultimatley think we know the meanings, and definitions of all words? Is it true; are we full of BS? If the world is about calling people out on their insecurites and discretions; are people employed to talk people off the ledge or help them jump when they are unveiled?

If we take a leap of faith, and let the unknown comfort us; have we left behind our insecurities, or have we just put them aside?

This movie is in a way about the sheltering of life. How some people are just not as comfortable stepping outside their norm, because they were held back from experiencing it. Are people masked by their everyday surroundings because ultimately they are hiding from the realities at hand? Can it be quite possible that our parents, our enviornment and even our own heroes shelter us from the world outside our personal space of  16 inches?

Do people compete the outside world because of the unknown or because some bullshit is holding them back?

If people are their own road map; how many miles have you traveled? Literally. Your legs have miles, your heart has traction, and your brain has road blocks. If you body is holding you back, what obstacle stopped your drive? Bullshit to some is a way to put a stop sign on existence. Bullshit to others is the game of life. When someone is breaking you down, are you sure they really know what it is they are trying to chip away?

“Personally, I don’t give a shit about all that, because - You know what? I can’t learn anything from you… I can’t read in some fuckin’ book. Unless you wanna talk about you, who you are. And I’m fascinated. I’m in. But you don’t wanna do that, do you sport? You’re terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief.”  - Sean

So, as we make our move, as we let someone in; we realize that its ok to not be as honest especially since most times we can’t be honest with ourselves.
