Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#28 "Backdraft" .. some situations are just a little hot.

Rate: 0 Flag

"The only problem is that in this job is there's just no place to hide. It's not like having a bad day selling log cabins. You have a bad day here and somebody dies... and that's just not fucking good enough." Lt. Steven McCaffrey

- Backdraft 1991

backdraft-poster        Haven't we all been in situations where we think we are doing the right thing, and ultimately we are not? Have we taken risks for immediate reward and we are long term consequenced? I know we've tried to hide our indiscrepancies, but when it comes full circle does it become a problem?

If competition is about consequence, who are we competiting ourselves to out-smart?

A consequence can trigger many different emotions. Were you right? Were you wrong? Did you not deceive or play the game right? Has the game played you? A consequence may affect you instantaneously or come back to bite you in the ass later. What constitutes the proper consequence?

If we didn't get in trouble, would we learn from anything, or would we continue to deceive our competition?

So the other day I thought about people's hidden agenda. What they actually want out of themselves and life; most importantly other people. Can we take people's words for what they are worth? Or do have to put our guards up and assume they are just trying to benefit for themselves? I want to believe people are honest, I want to believe people are not trying to deceive me.

But, am I honest? Am I really "all out there" with my true intentions?

If we can imagine a world full of honest truth, no consequences and no risk, would we be happy? I believe that happiness isn't earned.. its found.
