Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#33 "The Devil wears Prada"... knee highs are not fashion

Rate: 0 Flag

"You go to your closet and you select out, oh I don't know, that lumpy blue sweater, for instance, because you're trying to tell the world that you take yourself too seriously to care about what you put on your back." Miranda Priestly

- The Devil Wears Prada 2006

the-devil-wears-posterIf life didn't always entail the fact that appearances stand for who we are, why wouldn't we spend hours making ourselves appealing? Its a finite difference between looking presentable and over emphasizing beauty that identifies who we are as people. How often has your appearance gotten you what you wanted, or in reverse, gotten you no-where? When we realize that the world judges us on how we look, its time to understand that we need to stop judging ourselves against others, a take a look in the mirror.

Can looking amazing, versus, looking mediocre, create a competitive nature in society's photo album?

People are symbols; images of personality right? We walk around with hope to be accepted. Have you ever noticed who gets more attention? Why do they get more attention? I grew up with a different stereotype on beauty. I assumed that the aesthetically beautiful were highly fortunate, and those mediocre... well they had to work at it. I find it fascinating how women dazzle themselves in make-up and how men are beginning to use more beauty products then women.

If you are handsome, or beautiful, naturally.. does that mean you got dealt a great hand? Or are you just better at handling appearances?

If personality were more important, why don't we highlight people's charm, their wittiness and their versatility? Are we critics to our own judgment? Wanting to compartmentalize each person into a little block of space in the bookshelf of life. When we realize the stack ranking on beauty, can we identify and place ourselves in the proper order? Are you high up on the leader board? Are you middle of the road? Are you at the bottom of the barrel?

For those who are humble, not aware of their beauty, or good looks... you couldn't relate. As beauty wasn't intended to be on the outside. We just grow up and realize that each princess (appropriately beautiful) deserved their prince.

Prince Charming that is... not Prince Handsome. Right?
