"Now to tell you the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world and will blow you head clean off, you've gotta ask yourself a question: "Do I feel lucky?" Well, do ya, punk?" Harry Callahan
- Dirty Harry 1971
Do I feel lucky? What does luck have to do with anything? Actually.... luck has to do with a lot of things. When you rely on the luck, you won't be as fortunate. When you take that luck and turn it into something, you may have just capitalized on it. Who uses the work lucky? Is it extremely universal that its up for interpretation? Luck is as lucky as luck can get lucky.
When your luck appears to run out, are you waiting for the next windfall, or creating a plan of action to reinvent the game?
I, at times, imagine how different life would be if people weren't in the "right place at the right time". I think about a deck of cards; and how at each turn, depending on the game, we are hoping for a specific outcome. Yet, it could go both ways. You could either win with a pair of aces, or you could lose because you are trying to get the lowest dealt hand. Is that so bad? Losing while betting on luck?
"Happy go lucky". "Luck be a lady". "Lucky charm". "Good luck". "Lucky for you". "Luck of the draw".
If our success or failure is reliant on chance, what ammo would we have it we could luck out every time? How dependent is society on luck? I see it far too often, people throw the dice in life hoping, wishing, and praying that they are going to luck out; that they will be the lucky one. Can we predict our luck by practicing hope and wishes? I am an advocate to say that luck is based on attitude not predictablity.
I don't see luck as a huge part of my life, I see luck as an addition. The minute we use the luck for its purpose, the more influential society will be on others. Set the example; take luck for what its worth.... chance. Take life as if you couldn't rely on luck. Its incredible what may get accomplished. Its empowering to make something happen. Don't forget about luck though. Embrace it when its given... and test it when its received.
Because ultimately... its your luck; you just have to do something with it. Punk!
