Corn fields; open dreams. It is pertinent to a soul to be a dreamer. It is an audacious act to actually follow a dream. When dreams are made; and hopes are broken, you can't help but wonder why you stopped dreaming to begin with. What are those voices in our head that keep us honest? We tend to reveal a lot more about our souls once we actually put our talent to good use.
I know a few dreamers; I know some hope seekers; yet, I've never met someone who said, "my dream didn't come true".
Life enlists a plethora of thought. We circumvent our realities with spurts of "I wonder if", and "If I could only make my dream a reality". We minimize the thought it takes to actually put in enough effort to come out a winner. When we compete our dreams versus our reality; we can't ponder enough what it would have felt like to be in a different place at a different time. A friend of mine used to say, "I had no idea this was going to happen this morning with I woke up". I just laugh because, it is true... you can plan your day to the tee, yet, when it actually happens; the plan becomes a little less jaded.
"Fifty years ago, for five minutes you came within... y-you came this close. It would KILL some men to get so close to their dream and not touch it. God, they'd consider it a tragedy." - Ray Kinsella
Maybe, just maybe, people are fine with their status quo. Maybe, just maybe the thought of becoming a dream chaser and ultimately, a dream catcher is just a little too far fetch. That alone becomes someone else's competitive sport, the sport to maintain the tolerable. I compete the intolerable. I want to find the next best thing because I know it is better than the worst last thing. Yet, if I spend my days dreaming; how much time does it leave for do-ing?
Building an empire one step at a time, is one step closer to identifying your beginning, middle and end.
As you engage in the desire to build, you engage in the desire to complete. Think of something you've started. It could be a project around the house, it could be re-building a car, it might even be designing a portfolio of your work. Have you completed your project? If so, you are enjoying the results, reflecting on the time and energy and creativity put into your goal. If you haven't completed, you are not failing, you are just taking it one day at a time.
A man's mind and a soul for life, make us better competitors, better friends, better creators for new inhibitions. As we dream of building something; we dream of completing our souls.
I write for me; I speak to you. When I stop writing, my soul may not be complete until the writing becomes my soul. Until the soul of the writing becomes my dream. Ask yourself; Are you a dreamer? If you are not, why not? If you can't dream, what are you hoping will just happen?
