Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#131 "Blades of Glory"... my humps, my humps, my humps!

Rate: 5 Flag

blades of glory

"We're gonna dance to one song, and one song only: "Lady Humps" by the Blackeyed Peas. "What you gonna do with all that junk, all that junk inside your trunk? I’m a get you, get you drunk, get you drunk off my lady humps, my humps, my humps, my lovely lady humps."

-Chazz

Blades of Glory

2007

Is it true....men pairs figure skating? Well, maybe not in all actuality but somewhat in a way; acceptable. A competition about figure skating. A competitive sport where two men kicked off a previous team for fighting, end up joining one another as a loop hole in the rules make it acceptable to compete for the judges for redemption; together, as a pair.

Can we overcome some competition before we realize we are in a competitve enviornment?

Choices enlist actions; actions create indefinite choices. It takes a lot more creativity and recourse to elicit strong objection towards something; but, it takes more energy to fight the awkwardness in circumstance. Faced with awkward intentions we as humans react and respond in a few ways.

First, power struggle. Second, insecurity. Third, passion.

As we struggle with power in numbers, in individuals and in each other; we pick superiority and authority over decision and input. It's true; we follow those with leadership qualities. We resort to power identification by body language and loud speaking. Think about if you've seen a leader passively raise their hand and ask politely to be the team lead? Most often, not the case. We don't seek out those with power because they are standing back in the crowd; we seek out those with power because we want to identify with them.

Insecurities dictate more than we realize. We don't necessarily put the two together but we fall a close second to the idea that we are not always making the greatest impression. Intending to be up front and astound, doesn't necessarily mean you are exuding confidence, it just means you might be boistering your thought process.  Someone once told me I break the ice in awkward conversation by cracking a joke, or by taking someone's insecurity and twisting it. They claim it's because I lack the converstational skills to interact honestly with people. Ouch! That is a tough pill to swallow.

The passion aspect in human reaction is that we are either drawn to misery or just are nurturers. You know the saying misery loves company? Well, nurturers love reaction. You know those few people that talk your ear off waiting for your sympathy, then those other people that feed off of your miserable state; they are passion driven. When they are the catalyst to reactive intentions, we know they feel something out of circumstance. It's often a rule  that people want to feel passion; yet, we strive to keep the language we speak simple; because not everyone wants to be desired.

"Yeah, mind-bottling. You know, when things are so crazy it gets your thoughts all trapped, like in a bottle?" -Chazz

I don't want to lose focus of the Olympics here, but, we need to look at competition in the light of power, impression and passion. Each athlete on the ice, in their skis, on their snowboard, holding a stick or jumping towards the snow, knows the feeling of competitive validity. We as athletes, spectators or hopefulls know that we can't continue accepting the rules because we have to break them once in awhile.

"They laughed at Louis Armstrong when he said he was going to go to the moon. Now he's up there, laughing at them." - Chazz

Chazz was one of those characters that just didn't stop at power, or insecurities. He was passionate for the sport, passionate for the redemption. Needless to say, Chazz was just a sexually driven man that wanted the last word and the greatest attention... this is for Chazz and a little gratitude for the Black Eyed Peas nod. Enjoy.

Jordan, this is one I didn't see, but I'll take your word for it.

I'm just glad there was a movie that gave all David Blaine's old costumes someplace to go...
Aunt mabel.. you are correct. It was such a spoof. Too many stereotypes to handle.

scanner... take my word.. its really not about competition; its about two dudes skating. Not that there is anything wrong with that. Well.. maybe the spandex. Ha!

themanhattankid... you crack me up! I was thinking the same thing ;-)
Didn't see the movie, but nice discussion!
I didn't see it; I think I will.
