We might come from the a different philosophy, or even a somewhat different geography; but, a man's morals, redemption and discovery are all similar across the board. We don't resort to failure when given the opportunity to advance or better oneself.
In Blood Diamond, the search for a man's soul, is mirrored by the search for a specific stone which offers more possibility than geography will allow.
I like to think of the diamond in the rough euphemism when reflecting on this film. The diamond in the rough concept allows us to resort to such a journey led by change. We, big or small, culturally content, or ignorantly complacent, seek power in discovery of the unknown, and we seek knowing, before thinking in what we've come to know.

When we look into competition in one another; we seek competition from our own geography. The unknown is as terrifying as the known, because even though we think we know our climate; we might not know the power in our steps that led us there in the first place. The knowledge that someone holds can provide the power to redemption, freedom and opportunity for someones soul. That drive creates envy and uncomfortable strive in a man to perform; therefore, immeasurably no one can judge.
If Blood Diamond is on the preface of one man's knowledge and understanding of symbolism; then why are we in today's society conducting those never hads in the same fashion?
I think about how we put the power of our lives into someone else's hands. Our soul is that blood diamond, we risk and hide from it sometimes. The deeper you think about yourself, the broader the opportunity to hold the key to someones existence will become visible. As valid as finding the answers in history and in the present; it is generations of pride that provoke such change for the future.

Leonardo DiCaprio plays Danny Archer; a man with interest in another man's discovery; the pink diamond. The diamond holds answers for both Danny and Solomon; both in different ways. The question always exists; does it take pride, convincing or just desire to achieve such a territorial plight when one man has what you want? As Danny and Solomon make a deal; a diamond in return for the reunion with Solomon and his family; the world in which both men have known begins to change.
Today's quote above spoke about the way an American journalist assumes they are welcome in foreign territory. It generalized how sometimes outsiders in a specific territory or geography enlist on the concept that one can change or become accepted just because of their presence. It makes me believe that sometimes people trust the world more than they trust themselves. Danny Archer was responding to Mandy Bowen, the American Journalist, with a culture shock phenomenon; one concept to deeper discover.
If redemption, existence and co-existence shape the world we know; where does competition reside?
Well, it resides within each of us; it is that line divider; it is that hunt for the diamond. Profiles enlist understanding in ones self professed desires; profiling creates that narrow understanding into ones vague existence.
