"It was the greatest feeling I ever had. Followed abruptly by the worst feeling I ever had."
George
Blow
2001
I think George (Johnny Depp) is talking about the high and then the low. I think George is talking about the hunt and the ultimate capture. I think George is talking about the boy turning into the man, and the man becoming identified by his past. Believe it or not, George is talking about "blow", and that my friend is just a euphanism.
"Life passes most people by while they're making grand plans for it."
- George
Don't you agree? Do you tend to disagree? Life hands us many great splendor, the opportunity to make choices and the decision to be realistically planning for it, or perhaps just living it. I wake up each day knowing that life has something in store for me, knowing that life will shock, surprise, and catch me off guard. I've learned that perception is just the blind side through your side window on your car. You can't see through it unless you move forward a notch or hesitate on the accelerator.
"Danbury wasn't a prison, it was a crime school. I went in with a Bachelor of marijuana, came out with a Doctorate of cocaine." - George
Blow is a movie that demonstrates what one will do in time of powerless circumstances. Blow is a movie that discovers that one road and step down a beaten path is sometimes more rockier than once imagined. The domino effect to one addiction in which leads to another is inconclusive of the pattern in which humans tend to manifest. The addiction to deal marijuana then cocaine was a desire to get ahead.
How many times have you bent the rules or become addicted to something to get ahead?
Is it true that the once time something delivers, it will consistently re-deliver and re-deliver with the same premise? To each one of us, the choice to combine life and how time marches on is ultimately the truth to find what beat to what drum we are taking.
Thought this was a perfect example of how time continues on the pendulum of reality. Sometimes we sit and watch it go, other times we jump on the swing and take life for a ride. I guess we just need to believe in ourselves. I guess we just need to know when to stop and smell the roses.
