Title
One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#151 "Hideous Kinky"... an adventure of experience and love

Rate: 4 Flag

Hideous Kinky

"Hello darling, where did you spring from?"

 Julia

Hideous Kinky

1998

We seek to find, we hunt to explore. The adventures we find only enable the intrigue to continue, and the freedom of ones spirit to be defined. I often at times wonder why and if the opportunity arises for such freedom that one takes the path less desirable in order to find what they are looking for. Are we ultimately always looking for love?

Kate Winslet plays Julia, a young hippie mom with a trance across the land for ultimate reward and solitude; for love. As we see Julia's character surface from the soul of a woman to the traveler in the traveled, we fall in love with Hideous Kinky and the story about adventure as a love affair.

We all know someone who balances their multiple hats in the roles they play. We all know someone who seeks to find happiness, yet, is always pleasing another before themselves. Those passionate people define the interpretation of the way we view those who can't determine their purpose or find their happiness. Confusing to say the least, are people running from what is in front of them?

People as intriguing as landscape, horticulture and the ocean are ever changing and ever evolving. When one seeks the love of someone, we seek to be loved by another in return for the admiration.

Some may say a trip from London to Morocco is a stretch. Some may say a trip down memory lane is a past time. As we imagine ourselves in a spectacle of adventure, we imagine our travels as a force to be reckoned with. People need to feel a part of something. People strive to belong to somethign. What makes a group a group and an individual and individual, only allows the compassion for the drive to become so much more powerful.

Julia, the character, was, Kate as the beginning to her beautiful career. The passion and desire for something has led that someone down the right path. The way we imagine our goals is the way we take each step towards the road we deem acceptable.

The underlined beauty of this film was the narrative interpretation of Julia's daughter. The beautiful interpretation of a daughter's perception of a mother who wants freedom and adventure in a new culture, and love within herself. We fell in love with Kate Winslet's portrayal because we fall in love with the fantasy that we take those strides in our daily lives and we strive to be better at each thing we do.

We fall in love with a little girl's vision of her young and strong mother, and the culture of a world in which seemed so far away. We fall iln love with wanting the adventure, because sometimes we just can't see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Great interpretation of this film. It's one of my favorites for how well it conveys the atmosphere of her journey-- sound, color, all the senses.
Thanks again, I have watched three of your recommendations so I am here taking it all in.
