One Movie Line At A Time
Bio
Growing up loving movies, and quoting infamous lines, N. Jordan is about taking life's given competition and embracing it through movies quotes. Each posting reflects a personal understanding on how movies effect people, our lives and our fake realities. If life is a movie, why do we compete in so many ways? Sports, love, relationships, family, business, money, career, kids, etc. Its time to see who is keeping score. Because... life is sometimes an altered reality, just go at it one movie line at a time. My real name is Michelle Keifer. But, I've always wanted to talk about life through a guy's perspective. Just seemed so fitting as I've always been just one of the boys. Go New England Patriots!

#164 "Con Air"... 7 years and parole, time to go home

"Well, Baby-O, it's not exactly mai-thais and yatzee out here but... let's do it!"

Cameron Poe

Con Air

1997

My ultimate favorite phrase... "let's do it". It seems so fitting, so true, so vivid and vicarious. It simply defines the mentality in each and one of us to define gravity, speak with mentality and of course.. become someone who can persevere when given nothing but obligation.

As we end the week's look into films with the airplane theme and climatic appeal of competition, I wish upon each and everyone of you to "do it"! Be brave, strong, empowering and courageous. Be you.

This film took us to a different course in our airplane phenomenon. This film identified how in given circumstances and infinite reluctance, your luck can change and your choices must be re-evaluated. With Nicholas Cage, as Cameron Poe, we see a man who's choice to defend his wife, leads to a conviction for manslaughter, and given the opportunity to regain that family in which he had to leave.

Has Con Air approached the philosophy that in certain circumstances when something is so truly defined as right, are they ultimately sometimes wrong?

Each time the opportunity arises to take a little detour, do we leap, step or halt? Do we find stuff short term to give us long term hope? Have we given life a second chance when we think we've blown our chance the first time? I can't imagine more or less of a standard when it comes to self judgment.

We are most critical of ourselves when the critics are not even watching.

So, who's to judge?

Well.. realistically we all answer to someone, we all find judgment in our own ways as defined as either coincidence with passive behavior, or circumstance with valuable prevention. It is either one way right, or one way wrong.

Redemption, solace, and revival are a sub-context in the literary terms that define human process and scalable shortcomings. However, what defines someones redemption of their soul is often at times the soul itself. The power that articulates ones reflection in the mirror, and ones heart in the beat of a drum.

Airplane films peaked my interest this week. I find so many different stories surfacing alongside the bird in the air concept. We reach for the clouds, envision our dreams and replay scenarios over and over in our minds each time we embark on taking a journey and fastening those seat belts. Maybe I long for the saltiness in the peanuts, or the napkins that show the destination cities on them as I sit in my seat and look out the window into the horizon. Either way... a flight is just a flight, the destination is the journey, the spirit of someones soul is the adventure. So, can we become ones flight, can we do it!

"On any other day, that might seem strange." - Cameron Poe

"We are most critical of ourselves when the critics are not even watching'. Such a true statement. I've been through some things this week that relate to this. Does making a mistake make you a leper? Does inadvertently writing two sentences without malice give you courage to take on all comers. I think it depends on the man, don't you!
scanner... Yes, we are all critics. Making mistakes is just as poignant as making it right. I saw what was going on. I actually did a post about how we should all work together to improve and continue our knowledge around [reventing plagairism, instead of attacking people who do it without malice. I got some great comments, and some backlash.
But, in all actuality, you are right, it does depend on the man. It does. It also depends on the way we react, and like this film, we make choices, and sometimes the choices penalize us, but, we are given a chance at redemption.
Unfortunatley... if you think about it, this film is sorta a wake up call for some, and a sentencing for others.
Thanks for your comment, I know your week's been rough.
