I've always had a fascination for airplanes. Maybe it was the idea that something can soar up in the sky, and carry you off into the clouds. Or, possibly that an aircraft provided a sense that if you can think it, and build it, well, then you might as well make it happen, because the world might devour and embrace such an invention.
Airplane fascination goes beyond the sense of travel, it goes deep into the concept of exploration and convenience. Air travel is a destination away. Sometimes the destination is a quick hop, skip and a jump away, while other times you are dealt with lay-overs and delays, and weather concerns.
As I look at films that have the presence of an Airplane and Airport context, I will look into how these films have either encouraged or discouraged us to board that flight, and return to an upright position as soon as the seat belt bell is rung.
There are a gazillion films out there with this premise, however, I had to choose just seven.
So, unless I gets some killer suggestions from you, I will start with :
The Terminal
Up in the Air
Air Force One
Flightplan
Con Air
Airplane!,
and Flight of the Phoenix.
Here is a list with links to other airplane movies I've already posted.
The Aviator

Enjoy and please fasten your seat belts because their might be a little turbulence ;-) ... oh and I won't charge you for beverages. But, they are encouraged.

On second thought, your choices are better.
I guess I didn't realize that there are a bunch of airplane themed movies.
