"Ain't rememberin' wonderful?"

Crazy Heart
2009
I think its true...a memory is like a reality of reinvented thought. A memory is as poignant as a song, or when a song takes us back through the moments we've shared with one another or someone in particular. I think about how the title, Crazy Heart, is just as inspirational as a song about broken hearts, or mended hearts, or perhaps a shattered heart.
Are we all crazy hearts?
A little bit ago I thought about how powerful the memory of ones mind is. I thought about the times when I wish a memory would just go away, and a new adventure would replace it. I thought about the times where my life was a country song, a song about living for the explanation, and wanting some clarity on the perception.
Can a song really take someone back to their roots?
Country music has a way with creating a story that to some is over sarcastic. For others, country offers soul into the roots of ones upbringing and plight. Country music for me is about history, the present and the past. It depicts an emotion with a little twang, and demonstrates a power stronger than any guitar string. Music is the melody of life, its just something we all can relate to.
Music has layers of commonalities with one person. Sometimes the song reflects a first love, or first mistake. Sometimes a song can reinvent a feeling of loss or despair. Often at times, things that have happened to us, are reiterated through song and we feel an instant connection.
If hearts are crazy and song is powerful, can we be powerful crazies?
People do strange things when dealing with responses to actions of our ways or consequences. Life allows us to cope with daily distractions or inconsistencies through music, through sound, through the rhythm and the beat, through the pitch of the vocal, and of course through the words that just seem to easily relate.
When a memory becomes just that, the song can bring you back just as fast. I think of moments when I embraced song. Whether during a time of love, an evening of karaoke, or even a good cry after a sad loss. Music makes sense of the crazy in us all, the heart allows the healing and the beat gives us reason to sing along.
Embrace the words, and always stay true to your crazy heart.
Fabulous film. Realistic lyrics.
