What is on the other side of stillness?

What makes you think that you know?

Most people don't know...many things.  For instance.

Do you know, what it means, when they say the bodies

were stacked like a cord of wood? Did you know

when the body becomes dessicated, after death, it

collapses.

And the sides cave in.  And, unless the person was

obese, it becomes very very slender.  Almost rod-like.

You can stack bodies like this close together in a small

space and you'll get a lot of economy out of it.  This

is how they stack bodies in a war zone, military people,

they love efficiency.  Anyway, that's the meaning of the

expression.

Alright.
I'll be back soon.
your comment on Elijah Rising's Hemingway post was ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HILARIOUS! you are a GOD.

a secular one, of course.
They don't like the Becoming Queer here. Just the Coming Fear.

But I like. A lot.

When? Not what but why?
I never tried
to stack bodies
economically
next time I find myself
in that position
I will surely try.

Brilliant.

Pearls before swine, though, Doc, pearls before swine....

It is good to see you back, sir. Were you spelunking in the Adirondacks? I used often to go with my friends in the London Explorers Club...a tight-lipped organization...on expiditions to Bristol or Two Towers, or to the secret underground caverns that lurk beneath the London streets, relics of the ancient Roman era.... Ah the hours we spent, stripped to our waist, diving again and again into the depths. Uh. Well. Er. Hurumph! Hurumph! Amen.
The Empire's new clothes. Naked dead bodies.
I loved your email on this one, too. "What? A poem" in the subject, and then, for those still stupid enough to open it up, dryly: "It's on my blog."
This is really good, and really well written in a flat, everyday way to contrast with the subject matter. It's excellent.

Chilling, doc. Disturbing.
i always pay attention to the tags.
fiction... if only.
stupot - There are moments when we all qualify. Secular-wise.

skinnydave - I am more a Becoming Clear.

Patrick Frank - Thank you. You're still one of the most unvarnished varmints here.

tg within - What? (Really, I have some idea of what you mean--but clarity is not a crime, sir, and sometimes the indeterminacy that stands in for smarts is not so smart as it thinks. A little straightforwardness goes a long way.)

romanticpoetess - Not really a guide, more of a nudge.

BOKO - I cast where I may!

Linnnn - You are a woman of many n's. I can appreciate that. And thank you.

Harold - I do not spelunk. I do however on occassion forget to come up for air.
Anonymous911 - The Empire seems pretty much kaput to my eyes.

Sam - Tone is everything, is it not?

themanhattankid - To chill or not to chill...

lorianne - It was the only tag I could think of, of those offered "officially". Maybe Poetry would have been better. There are those who think that art should not deal with such things. I think they're wrong. Dead wrong.
Mary - More like a Marx brothers comedy, without the humor.
The paler shades of gray my darling Doctor.
