ARETHA'S HAT IS EVERYWHERE!!
It reminds me of when I heard of the phenomenon in Japan where a trend can move across the entire country in moments, through the instantaneous texting between one group of friends to another. I always attributed that to the relatively homogenous culture in Japan, and thought how difficult it would be for that to occur here, in the diverse land of the free and the home of the brave.
I guess 'the internets' has changed all that. Facebook, Open Salon, and other worldwide venues can reach across the miles in an instant. I love it!
My Open Salon avatar is a friend's photo of the 'Fleeble Flobbler' from Burning Man 2008. I don't have any information on its height, but to see something that pink burn must have been quite a thrill. My husband said he would work on getting Aretha's hat onto the Fleeble Flobbler for me, but he can't seem to make it a priority no matter how much I suggest that it might be his next chore. Alas, I fear the moment has passed, now that the hat is on its way to the Smithsonian.
I just love the hat on Cheney, don't you?
